1. I take it one step further
Edited on Sat Jan-23-10 01:19 PM by Patsy Stone
and try not to read GD or GDP. Not to say I don't slip from time to time, but this is my New Year's resolution, and it's still a work in progress. :)

Here's my theory: most posters who showed up here during the Bush regime did so because it was a haven of sanity and the media wouldn't do its job. Once the election was over, the majority of posters here went back to their lives, happy with the idea that they could finally exhale since Bush was out and a Democrat was in. Of the people who remain, very few call themselves Democrats. From what I've seen, we're left with the Greens, the Socialists, the Nihilists, the Anarchists, the Naderites and the downright miserable.

They've been here all along, but in the face of the BFEE, our differences were nothing. We were, for eight years, mostly on the same side. Now that a Democrat is in power, they're ready to attack just as they did before, because nothing's changed and they're still not Democrats.

2. Good summation
I think you are right. What is left is these nihilists who hate everything and can hardly have jobs and must be living off the land somehow (but not stopping from typing on a corporate computer!)

3. That helps to know.
I've only been here a little over a year; I also don't have very thick skin!

4. There's definetly a troll hole that
needs to be plugged. They're posting under the guise of regressive whine.

6. I put those in the downright miserable category
but you're absolutely right. As proof, there's a thread right now asking a simple question: Are you going to watch the SOTU? It's been unrecommended. Oy.

11. Here's my theory:
There are certain radical posters with an agenda who feel that Obama has forsaken them. Then clearly there must be "conservative" sock puppets who relish the discord and discontent.

The thing I find most odd is that the "conservative" "political correctness" meme is at full play here. One cannot mention anything even remotely referencing these particular groups with these particular agenda lest your post gets deleted and you get labeled a "bigot" or a "homophobe" or some other derogatory thing.

Welcome to Democratic Undermine.

10. If I read it,
I HAVE to answer back, usually.

It's awful.

I wasn't here during the campaign.

I came in August when the criticism of Obama in our town got to be more than I could take. I thought I'd find like-minded people here, but didn't until I found the BOG, looking for Nance's farewell thread.

It is BRUTAL out there. They could be my neighbors, who are nearly all Republicans, criticizing Obama at every turn.

Crybabies, mainly. No patience and want everything THEIR way and RIGHT NOW.
