Contrary to my last OP here
prior to the devastating SCOTUS ruling.

I'm kind of worried about the future of this country,
if not now, in three years.

1. Yeah, I cried for awhile this afternoon myself.
The NY Times called it "a shameful bookend to Bush v. Gore" -- which I thought was well put. To me it feels like The Coup: Part Two.

The Bush legacy lives on -- and on.

2. Yeah, it looks bad..
as if the money grubbers weren't pouring enough into campaigns.

But, all we can do is know that we got sucker punched today but another day we could get some equally good news instead..and keep on working 'cause we got a toe hold on Democracy now.

4. That is you and me also.
What I was living for was for the nightmare of the bush years to be over, and I saw that happen. Now it seems that things are getting worse than it was even then and there is nothing we can do about it. This was all sit in place by bush and cheney and all they had to do is wait until they got out of office to have it explode. I honestly don't see how Obama can do anything to control this mess that just keeps growing.

Perhaps the best thing we can hope for is the end of the world in 2012. At least the repubs and the corporations could not go on corrupting the earth and everything on it.

Oh, forget everything I say. I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired. I need something good to happen quick to give me any hope at all. :freak:

5. Sounds like a job for Dexter
five of 'em.

I'm not as freaked out by this as others. It just limits the time before elections. It can be undone with the next Obama appointee.

6. Barney Frank was on MSNBC last night
and he says that Congress will be able, constitutionally, to put limits on what the corporations can do.

7. This has steeled my resolve
I will be channeling my anger into action. They may have the money but we need to raise our voices to get votes to counter this outrage. Grass root campaigns seem to be the only way to fight back. They haven't totally repealed our right to vote and politic... yet.

11. Me too Frenchie

One thing we can say about the Republicans, they stick together and are thinking of evil deeds while we are sleeping or have our minds in MA.

The supreme Court Case makes mme ill.
