One man can't fix a broken country (Salon)

Behind the scenes, Obama has been part of a promising rebuilding project
By Angela Blackwell

A year into the Obama era, some progressives are feeling a mixture of sadness, resignation and disillusionment. Not me.

Instead, I am energized and hopeful that the administration -- and millions of regular Americans far from the halls of power -- have laid a sturdy foundation for a strong, equitable, opportunity-rich America for the 21st century.

To see where we're going, though, we have to remember where we were a year ago. On the day America inaugurated its first black president, this was the fourth paragraph of the New York Times lead story on the swearing-in, headlined "Obama Takes Oath, and Nation in Crisis Embraces the Moment":

"But confronted by the worst economic situation in decades, two overseas wars and the continuing threat of Islamic terrorism, Mr. Obama sobered the celebration with a grim assessment of the state of the nation rocked by home foreclosures, shuttered businesses, lost jobs, costly health care, failing schools, energy dependence and the threat of climate change."

the country is starting to recover from the boosh disaster.
I'm sad that so many don't see it.

want to see it so they stuff their eyes with promises of a utopia if they just follow hamsher off the cliff and oh, be sure and stuff her coffer on the way down.

4. What do they do all day?

Do they take their children to the Park?

Have jobs that satisfy them?

They must be very angry and unhappy people.

I can't imagine being that explosive on a daily basis.

I'm going to try saying to myself, " Would I rather be me or would I rather be one of them ~

The answer is easy ~ I just didn't realize there are that many angry people at one website.

8. I don't think so
I really think you are right they are angry people with issues.

In the Gd now we have this "i'm done" crap and threats to move to Canada! Like Canada wants their miserable asses.

Anyone who gives up this easily and this soon is going to be miserable no matter what.

go into DU's gd and gdp..you'll find the clueless one liner nasty snarks that mean nothing on the scale of what our President is doing to actually fix this country.

This too shall pass.
