12. If you mean Brown v Coakley, I have to disagree.
First, Massachusetts is what it is, Coakley didn't lose because of unhappy progressives there.

She didn't lose because of National politics.

She was less appealing overall and to independents in particular.

She had a very hard act to follow, and only if the Dem candidate had been at least as appealing as the Republican could they have won.

The economy is dismal, this was a factor.

But that Obama hasn't pressed progressive issues in the first year did not result in the turnout, I just don't think it had a very large effect.
