I heard something on "Hardball"
which I tend to believe.

Obama's entire agenda is toast if Coakley loses today.

I'd go further, and say that this would make him a lame duck. He will only get this one term if Brown wins.

I am so fearful. I just hope Coakley wins.

5. Chris isn't the one who was saying this.
At least, not tonight.

2. that goes too far
Tweety is a drama queen

Before Franken was seated, they passed the stimulus package with Snowe. She'd just become no 60 again and Lieberman would be screwed!

8. I'm listening to Ed Schultz
and this tune he's singing is so different. After saying "kill the bill" and wait for 2010 elections to elect some progressives for weeks and weeks, now he just can't believe what's happening in MA. He can't believe people would vote for Brown when he doesn't stand for anything. Voters in MA are making a mistake by not helping this president get his agenda passed. Oh, and he would cheat to keep Brown from winning.

 Sure I bet Ed just can't believe it.

18. If Brown gets elected, I wonder why he thinks that would mean more
leftward dems will get elected in November? :wtf:

22. Well it's all over now
and I guess they got what they wanted. So far I haven't seen progressives offer a running mate to replace a Democrat that is not in lock step with them. If they have I guess I missed it. Oh, wait a minute yeah they have. They always have a candidate to run against Obama. Well time to blame Obama. Maybe a word from Jane Hamsher tonight or is she on Fox. :puke:

4. That is just media spin.
Was Clinton a lame duck during his term? Was Reagan?

It may mean that the Senate looks to change the filibuster, a change which requires a majority vote.

11. I had a child I was raising at the time,
so was paying more attention to that than politics. However, I don't remember it being this rancorous back then.

There weren't the Teabaggers and all they bring with them. And then there is the race thing which is strongly pronounced where I am.

12. We didn't have the internet back then...
And cable news was still just getting under way. Talk radio, though, was dominated by the crap we hear over and over again. It was just as bad then. We just didn't hear it because there wasn't as many open avenues for communication like today.

14. Why are you posting that here? Why would you believe it?
I would like to hear YOUR valid reasons for believing something you heard on Hardball. Give me a cohesive argument why his entire agenda will be toast and all that other stuff you wrote. Go ahead.

15. Ditto! I'm sure there are any number of these kinds of threads elsewhere.
Randi said today that if the worst happens, we may very well get the majority party to rethink their made up rule of 60 votes. Afterall, the people elected this president because they agreed with his agenda, and Congress should do all in it's power to support him.

20. MY valid reasons?
Maybe it's because of everything I see here that is anti-Obama?

Yeah, if I want to believe in a second term, it may be wise to steer clear of DU. It's not looking so promising.

In addition to what I see and hear in real life?

Further than that, if Obama is "primaried" as so many "out there" are stumping for, then look for the Republicans to regain the White House in 2012.

I can't believe this is happening. Ted Kennedy must be spinning like he's on a rotisserie spit.

17. Clinton governed with Republican majorities
The bottom line is the same. We've got to figure out how to get people to stop buying into Republican bullshit. It's really just that simple. This guy ran on tax cuts and deficit spending for chrissake. I thought Obama had put an end to that nonsense last year.

23. True. But Obama said he thought explaining policy would be good enough.
He fell back into that old, wonky-way Democratic leaders love. He seemed to forget you've got to go for the gut.

I can't help but wonder if the assclown Brown filling his mentor Kennedy's seat will be enough to get that message through to him again.

As for this assclown from MA spelling the end of Obama's presidency, that's truly ridiculous.
