Remarks from Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) on September 13, 2001.

"Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price."

Does this sound like someone who can lead the US to some sort of a change in foreign policy?

2. There should be know illusion, her policy of negotiating, is NOT engage in a dialog
as Hamilton/Baker said, but threaten

Look at her voting record

Voted for the IWR
Voted for the Kyle/Lieberman amendment

If she is nominated, and wins, we will get exactly what we deserve

8. We'll get a war monger of the first order.
Hillary will feel the need to prove that she, a woman, can be as tough with other nations as can a man.

Not so sure about Barack Obama. I do know that if Kucinich had been given half a chance by the corporate media, and he had won then we would have a department of peace.

But nooooo, Kucinich is not electable so they say.

3. Look
This was 2 days after 9/11. A lot of us were feeling that way. If you went out and saw some of the disater that happened you'd have felt that way too.

I lived less than a mile from the Pentagon. I felt attacked on that day. The plane went just barely over my apartment buidling according to my neighbors who were eye witnesses. Smoke was in the air and we walked down to the reckage to see. It was a time where you would say stuff like that if you had seen the distruction first hand.

And I'm a Kucinich supporter.

7. I will preface this with the fact that I do not live in New York
nor do I live in Washington DC. 9/11/01 was less than two months after my brother committed suicide (he was found dead on 7/17/01) my feelings and reactions to the events of 9/11/01 were most definitely affected by the mourning I was going through on account of my brother's death.

OK....after 9/11/01 I didn't feel like seeking revenge. I was not on a war footing. War only breeds more war.

I did not support Bush ordering an attack on Afghanistan nor on Iraq. As a matter of fact on 9/11/01 I went to services and with several hundred others prayed for peace.

12. Excellent point - And I agree with you to a point. But If you look at the posts here at DU on 911..
You see old timers predicting the * abuses and police state we now have. Either Hillary was less worldly & politically skilled than many DU'ers or she was just jumping on the band wagon as a political calculation even though it was against her own beliefs. Personally I was too ill informed at the time (did not know of DU) to know what the heck was going on and simply trusted the D leaders to speak for the best interests of this progressive. It seems stupid now, looking back on it, to have trusted the D leaders that way, in their support for *.
