"Are you willing to look your children in the eye tonight,
and say I'm going to turn this mess, over to you?"

"Because if you turn your back, on the incompetence and the corruption
that exists in washington today-- that's exactly what you're saying!" John Edwards
at MSNBC debate

We can hope for change all we want, but sometimes, HOPE, is not enough!

2. Sounds like people ARE willing to just let the corprat mess fester and to foist it..
...on their children.

Since they're only interested in corporate bought and paid for candidates.

Speaks volumes.

3. I'm liking Edwards more and more everyday.
Would love to have seen a Gore/Edwards ticket.

But I will settle for a Edwards/RFK Jr. Ticket. B-)

5. I like your "settle" ticket!
Although, after RFK, Jr endorsed who he endorsed, he fell in my estimation.

This is one hell of a rough and downright idiotic campaign season!

I'm finding myself very disappointed and depressed at the attitude of voters. You'd think we'd have learned by now that "image" turns and bites us in the butt everytime!

8. Yeah, I couldn't believe RFK Jr. endorsed Hillary either...
I'll forgive him that one, but he'd better not do it again! ;)

And I so agree with you...people are voting for the celebrity-as in Oprah & Obama or Bill & Hillary-instead of someone who will work for them. :wtf:

Sorry, but I don't want someone who gives me "hope". I want someone who will kick a$$ and take names!

9. To the curb, ..... or lower.

I must admit, I'm depressed with the level of denseness in this country.

Why, oh why, is this NOT understood????

I"m afraid I'm coming to the conclusion that the US must fall of it's own weight before the light dawns on people.

11. People are their own worst enemy.
Problem is so many people think they are going to be rich someday, that they don't worry about things like unions or social safety nets.

IMHO, people would be a LOT happier and they would care more about what our elected officials are up to if they accepted their lot in life and realized that they are NEVER going to be rich like Oprah.

So yes, this country will crash and burn before people are finally forced to understand how much those who are in power have shafted them.

:(

13. Case in point which illustrates exactly what you are saying....
A woman who is going to banner with me in our "Poor Folk For Edwards" campaign, had a friend she knew would want to join us. Unfortunately, that friend died suddenly on Tuesday night. Here is her story:

She used to live in a huge and very expensive house in the beautiful mountains of Colorado (not in the city.... they lived in the country)

She had everything and her home was "decorated" to the hilt. She dressed expensively, drove a Mercedez, ate expensively. She couldn't understand how people could be so lazy as to be poor or homeless.

Then her life changed. Her husband divorced her, and having lots of money, he could get legal support to take everything from her. She was left destitute. She ended up living in a ramshackle old trailer with no heat, and very little to eat. She started understanding, then.

The woman I met took this woman to a food bank and showed her ways to survive. It took this downfall for her to "GET IT".

It's sad that she died. I think she would have become a very good advocate for poor folk, having seen both sides.

10. My children - it's one of my top
reasons for supporting Edwards - the vision he has for our future is the one I want my children to have.

Love that man, and I'm waiting for that hope to get to the White House.
