Remember how Bush was the guy you could "sit down and have a beer with"? ...If they sell beer at the Yacht Club in Kennebunkport.

Here are Clinton (Bill), Gore, and now Edwards, all from working class families and who worked their way up. These are the real guys you'd want to have a beer with. Not the privileged Bush boys, born with an oily silver spoon in their mouths. (I loved the quip about Poppy Bush being born with a silver foot in his mouth)

How does it happen that Bush is an "Average Joe" but all the others are elitist? Bush still acts like a college sophomore....the time in his life when he was pickling his brain with alcohol and cocaine....only to pretend to stop at age 40.

These past 8 years are what you get when you ignore who people really are.

And look who's being ignored now.

13. That is the essence of America right there.

And the wealthy right-wing elite has moved so far from that ideal. There is nothing wrong with success or wealth. There is something wrong with measuring the value of a person, determining that person's right to dignity, healthcare, respect, protection of his or her property, education, opportunity and human rights by the person's wealth. And that is what is happening here.

No one should have to be able to afford to go go a really good private school, be able to pay the exorbitant doctors' charges, or be able to hire a private security firm to guard his or her house in this country. But it is getting so that you can't compete for university places, stay healthy or safe unless you can pay the piper. That isn't just fascism. That is the beginning stages of feudalism. Pretty soon we will have to pay homage to rich protectors to even survive in this country. That is where the service economy leads. In the end, a very few aristocrats own the land, dole out the medical care, and protect the meager possessions of the poor who repay the "protection" in services. That is where we are headed.

the corporations are buying the government and having their
way with the people.  I'm voting Edwards the candidate who is
