2. What happened behind the scenes that have made influential

Democrats turn on Edwards? First Dennis Kucinich and now John Kerry. I say this because in 2004 both those Democrats were for John Edwards. Kucinich recommended that people vote for Edwards in case he didn't have enough votes and John Kerry selected him for his VP.

I can't believe that there is a DLC backroom deal to throw votes to either Clinton or Obama, both different sides of the same coin, because Dennis Kucinich isn't DLC. Has Richardson indicated a preference yet?

Something isn't adding up or maybe I'm not politically astute enough to figure it out.

You shouldn`t look for consipracies and deals.
Edwards is not a very credible politician. He hasn`t shown the consitency in his attitude and positions. This is something that his record says and his personality shows.
He is a good salesman and trial lawyer, but probably not a statesman.

Edwards is the only Dem running who doesn't currently hold office, so they have nothing to lose by snubbing him -- since snubbing him will preclude him from attaining the White House and a political mallet with which to thump them.

I hope he doesn't drop out before February 5th, because we need a choice here and it doesn't look like Dennis Kucinich is very viable. Even if he comes in third, he will have some clout to influence the nomination with his delegates.

Great, John Kerry endorses Barack. I could give a rat's ass who this politician supports. Granted, he votes my views in Congress and he represents the party that closely reflects my position on most issues. But he ALSO has earned the reputation as a wet rag when it comes to fighting power.

I remember Mondale and Humphrey. Two great men, but neither one has an ounce of skill with communication. Kerry is in the same class. Give me a Gore or a Clinton or an Edwards or an Obama any day. I'm getting sidetracked.

I guess what I want to say is, this man is responsible for rolling over and playing dead against the worst nightmare this country has ever had to endure. I lost respect for him WHEN he was running, and coughed up whatever respect was left when he conceded without a fight to this maniac that has f*cked up this country so bad today. He is NOT someone I would feel thrilled about getting and endorsement from.

He must have his reasons ~ and I wouldn't be surprised if it's partly about Obama's uplifting message.

Please tell Obama to SAY SOMETHING FOR ONCE. Say something to reach out to ME, not John Kerry. Uplifting isn't cutting it anymore !!!

Glad he can rack up some big names for himself and I too respect John Kerry's career and earlier service for the Vietnam Veterans' movement.

However, John Kerry is most recently A LOSER ! he totally caved on the election result after Edwards got us fired up for a real counting of votes ! and he has given me the skull and bones willies ever since !!! I don't know what John Kerry is fighting for, but I am NOT SURE it is what I support !!!

Please email your candidate to tell him to bridge out to Edwards supporters.

If Obama does not do that, we will most likely split into the Clinton camp, just because of the fact that we understand what she would bring to Washington, and Obama's vagueness is getting us REALLY UNHAPPY with his candidacy !!!

9. Actually I've been an Edwards supporter for the past couple of months...

And I'll support any of our candidates in the general unless there's an amazing indie running.

But I think JE has behaved badly since Iowa ~ not congratulating the winners in the first big contests, glomming onto Obama as if the two were a team, and treating Hillary badly at the debate and in his comments about her emotional display. I'm very disappointed in Edwards at this point.

just to clarify - not abandoning edwards for clinton AT ALL as long as he remains in the race, but I want to be able to discuss the other candidates properly at least.

12. I'd say that I am back to where I was before...

Just watching and commenting on what I like and don't like about each of our candidates. They're all admirable for different reasons ~ and they all have drawbacks.

imo Clinton's upside is her intelligence, dedication and the fact that I'd love to see a woman in the WH. Her downside is the lobbyists who fund her, that Iran vote and her desire to use Colin Powell to mend fences.

Obama's upside is his ability to create enough of a movement to win the presidency in spite of Republican dirty tricks, and to inspire Americans to rekindle their patriotism and ingenuity enough to solve the problems that face us. (It may seem like fluff but it's a formidable talent, and one this country needs right now.) His downside imo is his conciliatory manner toward entrenched interests and Republicans.

Edwards' fighting spirit is the thing that finally sold me on him ~ I think he's right that big oil, pharmaceutical corps, etc. aren't going to hand over their power easily. The downside imo is his less than stellar Senate record and his behavior since Iowa.

All that said, we win with any of them as long as we beat the Republicans. I'm feeling hopeful about the country again after a looooong seven years!!!
