3. They are making very good use of the fact that Edwards is strong in
the purple states --- if Dems fight to win in all 50-States it will hurt the Republicans badly. If the Dem candidate just goes to the blue and swing states then we are back in the bad position we've been in for the last 2 elections.

4. In a lot of those purple states, you could win voters by pulling in
the independents, the disgruntled republicans and the thousands of folks who haven't bothered to get around to voting before. Do you think some of them are fed up enough yet? I think they will be motivated by John Edwards to register in droves.

5. Yes - definitely. I live in Indiana and Edwards has gotten a lot of financial
support from Dems in Indiana who believe that Edwards will get votes from moderates independents and Republicans.

I think that many moderate independents and Republicans will be attracted to him because he is a "regular guy" from the country, demonstrates positive family values, and pulled himself up by his bootstraps - demonstrating personal responsibility.

Progressive independents will be attracted to him because of his strong policy positions.

I am hopeful...and anxious.
