Did you see the showdown between DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen and Karl Rove on FOX News Sunday?

We told you this weekend about Rove's recent lies, his claims that Congress pushed the President to war in Iraq in a ludicrous attempt to erase the fact that President Bush started this disastrous, failed war.

Republicans know what a mess they have made in Iraq -- we can't let them rewrite history now.

Chairman Van Hollen took him to task and demanded he retract these outrageous statements. While Rove did a verbal tap dance, cherry-picking information, the Chairman pulled out his trump card. This quote from Ari Fleischer:

"It was definitely the Bush administration that set it in motion and determined the timing, not the Congress. I think Karl in this instance just has his facts wrong."

Rove looks dumbfounded that someone finally stood up to him and called out his fabrications face-to-face. 1. DeepModemMom: You are on to something here and this

is of utmost importance. This "twisting events around and placing
the blame on the other side has been a WINNING Strategy of Bush Rove
Team.

The Dems made me do it --sounds so ridiculous but if repeated often
enough by enough people it sticks

Wayback when GWB was running for GOVENOR of Texas. ANN RICHARDS(RIP)
was an extremely popular governor. Using this switch the facts
tactic, they brought her ratings down and won. I can remember
Ann warning people on L King. She said--they will do something
and twist it in such a way to make people believe you did. She
warned you have to really call them on their "shell games' making
the people see what is going on.

2. I think someone posted that Rove could combine this stuff...

with the brouhaha over Bill Clinton's recent remarks on Iraq, and end up convincing people that the Democrats were responsible for the disaster that is Iraq. You're right, Rove has done this in the past, for sure, with such things as turning a hero like Cleland into a traitor -- and, I'm afraid we will have to wait and see if he can do it again, for yet another election.

Rove never stopped working for Bush or the right wing
elite that put that puppet in place and will try that
strategy again. It's that simple. He 'resigned' as a
way to lower his visibility and come back as if he's
an 'outsider' and is "now telling it like it is". Just
like John Bolton 'out of office' both full of SHIT.
