What an amazing little car. For sale in the USA already, apparently.

1. It only goes 35 miles on a four hour charge.
Not practical for most drivers, yet.

It's also limited to 25 miles an hour, which is VERY impractical in most parts of the country.

2. Well, my daily commute is only 5 miles one-way, so it's practical for me
and pretty much everyone I know as well.

In fact, I'd say you're wrong....a 35 mile range is practcal for most drivers.

As for the speed, 25 miles/hour is only 10 miles/hour below the speed limit on non-residential city roads in most cities. How is it "VERY impractical" to have to go a bit slower?

9. Not at all.
My husband (for lack of a better term for NJ's Civil Union) Bryan works 25 miles away, with no plug in the parking lot at his workplace for recharging during his shift.

Even the residential roads around here are posted 35 MPH and most people exceed that. Going along at 25 MPH is likely to lead to an accident.

If we want to enjoy what passes for culture nowadays, Philadelphia and Atlantic City are each 35 miles away, with good stretches of highways posted anywhere from 50-65 MPH on that stretch.

Mind you, I'm in the Northeast, too. The most densely populated area of the nation. What would this vehicle mean for people in, say, Montana?

Drivers in and immediately outside New York, L.A., Dallas, Chicago, maybe this would work, but in at least two of those options you have public transit that would suit you and the environment better.

This car is not the answer we've been waiting for.

5. It designed for "in-town" use.
For a lot of people, that's very practical. There's definitely a niche for it.

6. Looks like the top speed could be increased.
The company stats say that it's limited to 25 MPH in order to meet USDOT fmvss 500 regulations governing "low speed vehicles". Probably could go faster, but I imagine it would hit a whole different set of regulations. :hi:

7. Top speed of 25mph
Another video on their page reveals the ZENN has a top speed of 25mph.

That killed it for me. It's a glorified golf cart.

11. Max 28 miles on 4 hour 80% charge
35 miles is for a full charge which is 8 hours. it takes 4 hours to get 80% charge.

3. Awesome!
Great piece, done with humor and hitting all the salient points. See more at the _ZENN website_.

This car addresses a primary concern I've had with other EVs, namely lack of passenger/cargo space.

Now THIS is an EV that's ready for prime time -- and I hope it's street legal all over Canada soon.

Go Canada!

4. Cool! If I had an extra 13k, I'd certainly buy one
Looks like a great vehicle for urban dwellers who live where there isn't great public transport.I live downtown in a large city and I'm self employed, so most of my trips don't include highway driving. It would be ideal for the six mile trek up to a neighboring town and all those other in town trips to the grocery, gym, post office, library, etc.
