2. Just terrible...
It's like Iran in the 80's... The United States forced a horrible political change in Iran, in the 1950's, and by the 80's what had been a pro-western democracy 30 years prior became a theocratic police state. When will they learn that violence is but a short term solution, and the blowback it generates is often worse? "When all you own is a hammer..."

When Saddam Hussein was in power, women could walk safely through the streets of Basra without wearing hijab. George W. Bush is worse than Saddam Hussein.
