1. Just like the Wiemar German Republic of 1919 to 1933
...same problems, same kinds of extremes, same decedent behaviors, same moral decay.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weimar_Republic

But, the U.S. has something very different from all other nations which have come and gone throughout history, The United States Constitution:

<snip>
The Constitution of the United States of America

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.overview.html

Every word in our constitution, including and especially those in the Preamble above provides the principles which will save our nation.

3. What are we waiting for...
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 09:40 AM by maxkeiser
...why not stage the War for American Independence 2; the sequel.

Same great Constitution. Same great Democracy.

Why stage ten rallies in ten cities when only one rally is needed; big enough to circle the White House and demand the tyrants come out with their hands up. Why not? I really don't know what we're waiting for... All I know for sure is that - as the US dollar continues to lose it's value on the world stage - those in power in the US will be motivated to take more control of every single bank account in the US - of every single citizen in the US and limit access for Americans to their money...

Even if you have, let's say, 1 mn. in cash, you will not be allowed to take out more than a few thousand a month. The balance will be 'managed' by the US govt' who will tell us that this is the only choice we have - to keep the Chinese and Arab creditors from taking control of US institutions outright. In other words, as Warren Buffet himself has said; America is becoming a nation of share croppers; and you don't have to be working the cotton plantation for this to happen. Architects, engineers, analysts, doctors, white collar, blue collar; red state, blue state; 'rich' and poor alike will all find themselves suddenly being dripped money like hamsters in a cage...

The technology is in place to make this happen. The laws are in place to make this happen. The will of the corporate majority is in place to make this happen. And then what? Revolution at that point becomes less likely to succeed than our founding fathers' insurrection against our British occupiers.

What are we waiting for? Why don't we just swarm the White House today and take back our liberty? What have we got to lose?

4. Sad but true.
Maybe you need a football game in there too or people driving SUVs.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone cares about global warming. And sports is a
major preoccupation (but hell maybe we need something to distract us)

7. Thanks for the comments!
I don't know what it will take either ~ and it seems that the more disillusioned we get, the more we turn toward our favorite distractions and/or numbing obsessions. Wonder what would happen if millions of Americans surrounded the White House demanding that the Constitution be upheld ~ would they all be bombed into submission in an arrogant display of shock and awe??

(I almost used a couple of football shots, but thought the boys at YouTube might go ballistic if I dared to touch America's sacred cow!)

8. why not a ring instead of many files...
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 12:59 PM by maxkeiser
...over the weekend there were demonstations all over the US in various cities; this seems like needlessly diluting the power of the demonstration..

why not figure out - at what distance - maybe 1/4 mile (google maps could be used to create a cyber ring with GPS coordinates) and then stage a sit in on that circle; 360 degrees around the white house..

figure out how many bodies it would take to complete the ring; make sure that the adequate number of individuals show up - again, using the internet; and staging this as a 'flash mob' -

...the people who are manning the ring are relieved every 6 or 12 or 24 hours by back ups.. again, using the internet to coordinate... the hope would be that the ring would get deeper than one-person deep.. maybe five or six or more individuals per each GPS spot on the ring.. for all 360 degrees.. eventually, when enough people show up - the entire ring takes a step forward - closing in on the WH... all the while insisting on fidelity to the DOI, the BOR, and the Constitution... just staying completely within the dictates of those documents... like a pimple that needs to get squeezed; the people push the puss out of the WH.

Lol ~ that's a great way to put it!

It does seem that demonstrations in places other than DC get little coverage and have little impact. But I also believe that those in the White House couldn't care less about the American people or what they want ~ maybe it makes sense to encircle Congress at this point.

10. Now we're the Indians while the current administration is...
circling their wagons and hiding in their bunkers and compounds from Maine (Bush) to Seattle (Gates). We are all living on the reservation now... I say it's time to get off the reservation and move back into the People's House. What was the point of fighting the British to begin with if we're just going to give it away 220 years later?

Question of the year! Wonder how Dems in Congress would answer it.
