1. Richard Wolfe isn't very good in his analysis. Minimizes threat.
This is the third time now that I've heard Wolfe and wondered why he downplays the WH threat. Olberman keeps trying to lead him to the logical conclusions yet Wolfe makes irrational statements as if it's all in our heads and Cheney doesn't really mean what he's saying. Keith appears frustrated at Wolfe misguided analysis and I've come to wonder why he has him on his show except Keith probably isn't the one who included him.

Cheney's defies logic...check out the guest post for Glenn Greenwald over at salon .com for why Cheney has his head up his ass plus keep in mind that the applause for Cheney is paid for. He's been wrong on everything with Iraq and one wonders why he continues to lie like people would actually believe him.
Of course you have Podhertz, Lieberman, and Kristol acting like it's God's truth and pumping it up like the whole world just knows it's true but the holes in his argument are huge and easily dismissed over at the salon.com piece. Check it out. Everyone's got the bomb except for Iran and for them to try to get one is just insane and can't be allowed...yeah, right Just like Iraq he thinks it's worth the mass murder of a million more innocent people. Perhaps he could start with Pelosi then we might get someone who's not afraid to do their duty and impeach the SOB. Just kidding. Eventually Pelosi will come to her senses or lose an election...hopefully.

2. I Somewhat See Your Point
You are right to a degree. It seems to me that Wolfe is not making light of Cheney's or Bush's words; he for some reason thinks others will stop Cheney and Bush. Throughtout the interview he seems to be saying why worry because other people will not let Cheney and Bush do what they want to do. That make me question where has Wolfe been for the last six years. As far as I know the UN did not allow Bush to go into Iraq. When Bush could not get the UN to follow he just went anyway. It was the same with everyone else Wolfe mentioned.

3. What the money we're spending could be doing instead....
What the money we're spending could be doing instead....
http://nationalpriorities.org/index.php?op ...

The War In Iraq Costs SO FAR...

$456,172,238,408

Instead, we could have insured
273,157,028
children for one year.

Instead, we could have built
4,107,403
additional housing units.

Instead, we could have hired
7,905,524
additional public school teachers for one year.

Instead, we could have paid for
60,420,205
children to attend a year of Head Start.

Instead, we could have provided
22,114,244
students four-year scholarships at public universities.

SO FAR, and the counter is running with $4,100 for every American household;
$1,500 for every American;
$3,400 for every taxpayer;
$11 million per hour and;
$275 million per day.

Think what that amount of money could have done if we'd invested it in alternative energy sources. At $4,100 per household, we could have made solar, wind, or other natural and renewable sources of energy available to each home in America, making oil and coal nearly obsolete in the heating and cooling of our homes. If we'd spent that on our auto industries and created more fuel efficient, cleaner, or even electric transportation, think what that could do for our dependence on oil and the unstable countries we do business with.

I do sincerely hope that our nation will be able to hold George Bush and his cronies, and the companies he is in bed with accountable for this war and what it's cost all of us. I believe he should be held accountable for what has happened to Iraq, and on some part, the loss of lives of the Iraqi people. He is a war president as he always hoped, but he's also a war criminal and should be prosecuted as such. The money hurts now, but the loss of our military strength, the reputation and integrity of our nation, the loss of esteem of the nations of the world and so much more are the true legacy of George W. Bush. Death would be too good for this buffoon.
