Karl Frisch of Bullfight Strategies & Sam Sacks, Progressive Strategist join Thom Hartmann. The GOP presidential primary debates are back in full-swing. And there was no lack of entertainment at last night's debate on CNBC - although substance was hard to come by. I was completely shocked off the bat with the question on Italy - it was clear the moderators knew far more about the issues than the candidates on stage - through the entire night - why are there no serious questions about whether or not these guys are qualified to be in the White House?

1. It is really remarkable that Ron Paul has any "youth" support at all.
He is completely out of touch. Perhaps he's been out of college for too long? Or he is so ideologically stuck on his Ron Paul beliefs that he is unable to reasonably adjust his notions with reality. He thinks govt loan programs for college students is wrong and that they should just pay for it like they do cell phones. Even if the student had a 40 hr min to lower wage, they would not be able to pay as they go. Maybe he doesn't know the costs? Out of college too long. Its just like Medicare. He was a Dr a long time ago. If a person didn't have insurance or had costs, yes, back then a church or community fundraiser could, perhaps, cover some of the costs to help a family out. However, the costs today are so astronomical, that there is no possible way for a community or a church to cover the costs for say cancer treatment or heart surgery or recovery from an accident that takes extensive time and care to recover from. Its so out of touch that it just sounds crazy.

But when it comes to telling women that they must carry their child to term, even in spite of the health of the mother or the fetus, he wants govt right there to demand they have that baby.. even if it means death for both. Asinine, crazy, irrational, uncaring, lacking of empathy... Plus he's got a history of being a racist piece of shit, too. He would still love to live in a country where segregation and denying admittance to restraints and country clubs and schools and what not were allowed.

Its unbelievable that he has a seat in congress still or any of those who are like him are in congress making laws and doing the important business of the people. Its like living in the land of insanity. Its no wonder that something like the Penn State sex scandal could take place... This country is morally bankrupt and one only has to look to its "leaders" to understand how far off the path or rationality, empathy, common sense, and common good it is.
