6. Well, let's look at that
Yemen: a beacon of justice and democratic government
Tried in absentia
for incitement to murder
a French citizen

and the CIA executed him.

4. "We have ways of dealing with people who engage in those kinds of activities."
Often we give them jobs on Fox News. Sometimes we make them Governor of a state.

Never before have we bragged about killing one of them.

5. His crime was probably knowing the truth. It's why everyone else
was tortured in Gitmo. They knew too much.

8. K & R, Scahill once again speaking truth to power. What

have we become? NOT IN OUR NAME...due process...we are a nation of laws, why has this been lost on any US administration? First we enter into preemptive wars based on lies, now we enter the land of assassination based on "covert" decision and reason? If there was reason good enough for this action, it should be released and proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, or we are no better than terrorists ourselves. Not from my bleeding heart, but from my reasoning mind...I want to know why this was warranted.

9. Jeremy says what I've been unable to say. It's the liberals who accept this who are distressing

This is what I meant in a previous post about this showing the true colors of people in this forum. Not only that, but an hour ago they finally killed Aron Bassler, the murder who has been running from police in my back yard for the last five weeks. Immediately I see posts on another forum with high fives and thumbs up.

What the hell is wrong with America that these kinds of things can pass for victory, let alone acceptable? It is like we're looking at this as if it were a video game, or tv show, and cheering on the victor, all while forgetting that the very thread that holds this country together, the Constitution, is being unraveled.

I'm disgusted. I'm sick of the weakness. Of the puny mentality.

I forgot to add that when we kill someone, we're not just killing them. We're killing their whole family. Doesn't anyone see this? Yeah! We got him! No, we got his mother, his father, his brother and sister. Call me a bleeding heart, but it's reality.

10. as if state murder was not bad enough,.
now we send UAVs to murder inconvenient people anywhere in the world. For some reason we have to torture the dudes we captured in Afghanistan because they may have been "deeply" "involved" in the "inner-workings" of some mythic "terror group",. but when they claim they actually have the "leaders" they snipe them with robots,. or send in a chopper death squad. Really? Logic please.

almost a 1000 bases all over the world,. that is an EMPIRE. Eye hear those tend to fall..,

11. I've always like Jeremy Scahell, but don't agree with him on
this one. The guy was plotting to kill Americans. If he had remained in the U.S. he would have been apprehended, charged, and tried. He's a traitor who chose to flee the country and take refuge in a country that is hostile and lawless. Therefore, he forfeits his rights as a U.S. citizen. We should not be risking American lives in a place like Yemen to take him alive. I have no sympathy, and do not agree with some liberals who don't think we have the constitutional right to assassinate a traitor, if we have no other means of neutralizing him.
