This is the most fucked up, racist experiment I have ever heard of, and that's AFTER reading MEDICAL APARTHEID.

I stumbled across this on Reddit, and it has haunted me ever since.

Most of us think of racists as toothless rednecks, but the ones with lab coats and clipboards were far more deadly and cold-blooded in their crimes.

WARNING: the image of this guy's injury is about as disturbing as it gets.

soul of those who did this to him, or a cankerous, empty hole where one should be.

4. To be fair, and without knowing the specific details of this case,

the 20th century is full of unfortunate experiments with radiation to treat just about every condition under the sun. We were white and middle class in the 50's when my sister and I were born. i have a small white scar on my leg from where a birth mark was removed by who knows what method. My sister has a large ugly scar on her leg from where radiation was used to remove a small birthmark. It's nasty, shiny and translucent. Who knows what kind of dose she got? My grandfather was horribly burned in the 60's when cobalt was used to treat his bladder cancer. I suspect the more disenfranchised you were, the more likely you were to be experimented on, but no one was safe.

6. You're right about that...

...when I was a youngster back in the 50s, I had ongoing problems with allergies and narrow nasal passages that made it hard for me to breathe sometimes. The family doctor, a man who was getting on in years, suggested to my mom that he could widen my nasal passages by stuffing radium up there (I think it was radium -- some radioactive substance, anyway).

Thankfully, my mom had the good sense to refuse the treatment. Thanks Mom!!!

If that doesn't illustrate that people in this country did the things that NAZIs were executed for after WWII, I don't know what would.
