Lee Fang, Think Progress joins Thom Hartmann. Thom noticed for years that people have been going into his message boards - particularly around the time of elections - and posting right-wing propoganda - and one guy ADMITTED that he's being paid by Conservative organizations to do this. But it appears that the Chamber of Commerce may be up to something much more nefarious using fake internet identities. Earlier this year - ThinkProgress obtained hacked emails from the defense contractor HB Gary Federal - that suggest that - with the help of other security firms - HBGF was working with the Chamber of Commerce to sabotage Progressive organizations like ThinkProgress and the union SEIU.

1. why should we be surprised?

this sort of thing has been going on for many many years. the problem is now that`s it is wired into everything we see and hear.

when will the justice dept. start really investigating fox news?

Or accuse others... at any rate most DU or message board long-timers can get a sense of who they are. The folks re-activated at election time is just one clue.

3. Another dimension for powerful right wing PR operatives to play within.

Right wing PR machinery is so diversified and works on so many angles that I'm not surprised they've created fake identities.

Having read "Blinded by the Right" and "What Liberal Media?" long ago, I know they will go to any length to catapult and insinuate their propaganda and have been doing it for years. They faxed their talking points out before email became the way to go.
