1. She should reopen the yard sale and then refuse to appear at her civil hearing.
Once there's a warrant for contempt of court she'll get care, food, and a bed.
She'll have to change her address (and wardrobe) though. :(

2. I don't even think of USA, Inc as a country anymore. It's just ripoff haven. It's not
about the majority of the citizens and democracy flew out the window years ago.

3. I'd like to get my hands around the throat of the complaining neighbor!
What's wrong with people? If that neighborhood was a neighborhood they'd rotate the sale and do some heavy lifting. I would suspecct there are others in the area who could have the same bad fortune.

4. If we had single payer this would not be an issue...
...she would be able to keep all her things and get treatment...I love the reporters last comments, '...well, you got to pay those bills'...so dismissive.

5. Exactly!
single-payer is the ONLY way to go for a civilized society.

7. So all those other countries with socialized universal healthcare
are not civilized societies?

9. I got a permit for a yard sale. I advertised it. I set out all of my stuff. Then my neighbours
on both sides of me (well one across the street) put out stuff too. It was great. We got so much more traffic because their was a cluster of all of us. Seriously I don't think yard sales should require permits. They are good for the environment(recycling) and for raising funds (I gave $300 to a charity that day).

10. This country is so fucked up when people have to beg and sell the last of their possessions...

to try and live when a medical emergency occurs.

And the CEO of a company who is paid millions to deny care is invited to the WH and called upon to speak by the president, while his personal physician of 20+ years was cancelled from the WH town hall at the last minute ... he said his question was about single payer HC for all. Guess we cannot have that discussion!

Then again I read that Lieberman, the all powerful, was able to block any expansion of Medicare all by himself!

Sorry I'm pissed and looking at you President Obama as we sell off our possessions and home due to a blood cancer. You should have the courage to allow those who would challenge the for profit companies into the discussions, even if you do not publicly endorse the idea, but you did just the opposite.

Yes I'm mad.

he was for single payer before he was against it (for Campaign Funding(TM) reasons???).

The current US system is way beyond any comparable civilized nation with SPHC systems, it's so obvious, and for what?

:puke: Plutocrats Bribing Opportunistic Politicians?
