Lately protestors have been using social media to spread the word for different causes. In San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit, or BART, disabled mobile device service to prevent a protest on Thursday. What are Americans' First Amendment rights when it comes to mobile service? Declan McCullagh, a correspondent for CNET news, gives us his take on the occurrence.

1. Mubarak did the same thing. Actually, this is a standard practice of authoritarian regimes.

2. Cellphones
There is something fishy here. All cellphone towers have a power backup system. It takes the direct intervention of the cellphone company to shot down the system.
