1. Max, please update your Resonancefm podcasts!
I sure wish you'd participate on this forum. But in lieu of that, I heartily recommend all of your posts.

2. Great segment...
...one thing about Apple: I remember back in the day, when everyone said Apple was dead and Microsoft was going to own the world. But Apple had huge cash reserves (about $1B at the time IIRC), and that helped them to survive to fight another day. So I suspect that might be one reason why they are sitting on such a large reserve. They do have some relevant history in that regard.

Of course we know that all the big American corporations are likewise sitting on large piles of cash yet continuing to outsource and to make more money fiddling with financial markets than actually doing what they were supposedly created to do.

Oh well I'm no expert, just wanted to throw that in about Apple.

4. Apple and Microsoft are NOT, by any sense of the term, COMPETITORS
They only "give the illusion" of competition with each other.

6. Regardless, I do remember when Apple was being given up for dead...
...and the only thing that enabled them to keep going was the large cash reserves that Jobs insisted on keeping.

7. Apple are
the symbol of everything that is wrong with the planet - they epitomize slavish consumerism to corporate overlords, their customers are actually fanatical about a corporate product, they are completely ripped off, completely crippled by their business model, and are fanatical about defending what is an incredibly bad product, it is just crazy to see people so mesmorized and emotionally attached to a gadget brand name....really, really, depressing.

I can not express my disgust for Apple strongly enough - I place them firmly on the pedestal of evil corporation well above BP, Shell, Sachs etc.
This company builds its products in suicide factories, is an environmental disaster of epic proportions, and is the poster child for the Coltan wars in Congo which killed almost 5 million people.

Fuck you Apple - seriously, FUCK YOU.

9. What will replace the dollar as the reserve currency?
I've had 24 hours to digest this, and this is what resulted.

What happens when the dollar does finally lose it's ______? (Not sure what the terminology is. )
