House Majority Leader John Boehner and Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod are both claiming victory after a debt ceiling deal was passed in the House. Cenk Uygur sets the record straight.

The American People LOST - and I mean they LOST everything. All traded away to the Tealiban in some extortionist plot and political gaming whose primary objective was anything BUT - saving the country and the economy.

It's GONE. You may notice it immediately, but it's GONE.

7. If this is the way it went down, the Democrats just got destroyed.

So far, what I'm hearing is exactly what Cenk said: This is all about spending cuts and no revenue increases.

One wonder's how this can happen with a Democratically controlled House and Presidency.

I see this as a complete cave-in for the Democrats.

Moreover, I think it destroyed their election chances in the next election. The Republicans can now claim that they stood up to the President and prevented any new taxes and that they cut government spending. This will thrill and inspire their base.

The Democrats have nothing good they can claim they won from this.
