Rahm Emanuel loses his temper with a reporter

Mary Ann Ahern, a reporter with NBC Chicago, pressed Emanuel about where his children would attend school in Chicago, which Emanuel was not too pleased to answer.

“My children are not in a public position. I am,” he said. “My children are not an instrument of me being mayor. My children are my children, and that may be news to you, and that may be new to you, Mary Ann, but you have to understand that I’m making this decision as a father.”

Then, he stood, pulled off his microphone and ended the interview.

According to Mediaite, when Ahern later tried to contact him to clear the air, he responded, “You are wrong and a bully. I care deeply for my family. I don’t care about you.”

2. So Rahm and Chris, who are supposed to be serving the public,

get enough money for their work so that they can afford private school, while most of the citizens that they are supposed to be serving do not.

As wrong as Christie was in disrespecting his constituent, I believe his position is the more easily defended: He wants a religious education for his children, so he sends them to Catholic school.

No, Rahm should not send his kids to inferior public schools just because he is mayor. His children should not suffer for his being mayor. But both Rahm and Chris should be working to make the public schools for which they are responsible just as good as the private schools to which most parents can't afford to send their kids. Christie is clearly moving in the opposite direction by cutting funding from public schools in NJ. I don't know what Rahm is doing with schools in Chicago, but he should be willing to talk not about his kids but about *his* decision not to send them to the public schools that he is supposed to be fixing.

6. There are many reasons for someone like he and his Wife to choose Private Schools...

It probably has everything to do with the Kids and not the schools. He does get to raise his children as he and his Wife choose. Of all people, the Faux jerks should know that. Their gloating really shows their prejudice and dislike for the guy and what he believes in. I don't watch any Faux programming except maybe the Simpsons. I understand Faux owns some cable channels if I knew which ones I would avoid them also... I hope it isn't SciFi.
