The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell
Step-by-step, Lawrence explains President Obama's approach to the debt negotiations and why he's masterfully winning the fight.

LO has been right on just about everything so far.

2. Nonsense. Obama has agreed to and even proposed
cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

In so doing, he has lost millions of independent and senior votes.

His strategy is seriously flawed.

He will never regain the trust of seniors in his own party.

Of course, Lawrence O'Donnell will never have to rely on Social Security and Medicare just to keep alive and be able to see his grandchildren. Or so he thinks.

But most Americans have at least one family member who are completely dependent on Social Security and Medicare -- just to live in some dignity.

Obama has crossed a threshold, and he will never cross back.

Shame on him.

And shame on Lawrence O'Donnell for missing the real reason that Boehner is trying to save face on this: the many, many voters who have called his office warning that Social Security and Medicare cuts would devastate America.

6. Ah. The pan-dimensional chess theory.
Wouldn't it be lovely if it were true? Is the President actually playing hardball for a change?

I can't help but be skeptical.

7. IF true, it looks like a pretty high stakes poker game where the chips include
the financial security and the very lives of our most vulnerable citizens.
