Beware of the left-wing Sesame Street conspiracy. That’s right - move over NPR - some on the right are accusing Sesame Street of being a liberal propaganda outlet. Yes...I'm talking about THE Sesame Street - the one we grew up on and some of us raised our kids on. Lawyer Ben Shapiro is hyping up a new book "Primetime Propaganda" that examines this liberal bias spewing from the like of the Cookie Monster and he joins Thom. Not only does Ben Shapiro go after Bert & Ernie but he also goes after Hollywood for keeping conservatives out. Thom asks Ben - should big government come into the free market to protect conservatives? Should we have quotas and affirmative action for conservatives? Or doesn't this prove - in the marketplace - that people have rejected conservative ideas? Tune in.

1. only a spoon fed conservative brainwashed dork would claim this
let me guess... he was "homeschooled" by right wing fundies too.

These people are insane... they are fighting against popular culture and nothing more. These are control freaks who want to force their extremist views down our throats.

2. I don't buy it. My 2nd grade teacher had us singing Woody Guthrie,
Bob Dylan, Peter Paul & Mary, etc. Sure, the songs were social justice oriented, but they reinforced what I already believed at age 8. I wasn't "converted" or co-opted.

3. Huckabee has a cartoon video that indoctrinates children
into right-wing thinking. Claims the world was a terrible place until Reagan saved us all from a fate worse than death. Conservatives want mandatory classes in Ayn Rand philosophies taught by teachers who are in agreement with those philosophies. They're a sick bunch.

5. This golden oldie made a comeback?
This one has been going around since Sesame Street first came on when I was a kid. My older brother had a work study job at the local TV station and I remember my mom and her friends discussing it.

Social justice was made a 'buzz word' by Glenn Beck!

Social justice is exactly what it is -social justice. What this nation is lacking, right now, more than anything, is social justice. We just watched an administration walk away from war crimes with no investigations or prosecutions. That is a failure or lack of social justice. We just watched greedy banksters destroy the nations economy yet walk away with their pockets filled to overflowing and un-prosecuted while blue collar prosecution is overfilling our prisons -this is a lack of social justice. We are watching Republican politicians rail against a social safety net while the wealthy pay fewer and fewer dollars in taxes -this is a failure of social justice.

This fucking nation was founded on social justice.

Thom, you were far too easy on this young propagandist.

7. It's not just Sesame Street you fool!
This guy should check out basically every children's program or movie on today on any channel. They all try to instill basic principles that sadly, even Conservative morons will teach their kids in their own households. You share, not hoard because you can; you tell the truth, not just tell them what they want to hear to fill your needs; you treat others as you would want to be treated, not treat others less because they have less; and hard work will get you far instead of working the system to get what you want or if you don't get caught, it's not against the rules.

I see them every day. People I work with bashing Obama (and not as we Liberals do), bad mouthing Dems, spouting the talking points like robots, yet they complain about the salaries of upper management while not getting raises themselves, complain that the 'customers' are scumbags and can't be trusted, and other rules that we should follow because of basic lying, cheating or fraud. Yet, they go vote for a GOPig, and they tear those things down.

Not to mention what they are taught in Church. I've been their, listening to the Priest, looking around at all the faces that I know likely votes for a Republican that does not support legislation that would indeed be practicing what is being preached.

I guess they didn't get to watch Sesame Street as a kid...I did.

8. Well, yeah...it is.
The show encourages compassion and tolerance, promotes diversity and makes learning fun. No guns or violence.

Obviously Liberal.
