More unfortunate news of how irresponsible budget cuts kill people. A man
drowned yesterday - as firefighters and first responder just watched from shore.
The firefighters couldn’t help the man because they didn’t have training or
cold-water gear thanks to budget cuts back in 2009. Thom Hartmann asks
Conservative commentator David Selig - How many people have to die before
conservatives figure out that there's some value in having public services? It
took an hour for this guy to drown!

2. Of course you are right, Thom.
But the damn Republicans insist the government can't create jobs. Of course this is nonsense. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for these government projects like the TVA, the highway system and the space program, these things we value would never have been created at all. Imagine this nation without our highway system and these power generating damns.

The Republicans are dead wrong. They know they are wrong but they want to limit anything that might enhance the economy because a bad economy helps them in the 2012 elections.
