Thom Hartmann disagrees with Senator Mark Kirk's assertion that a fiscally conservative government cut spending to get us out of the last deficit. (Hartmann is responding to Kirk's appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe today that he saw because his wife turned on the TV to MSNBC in the morning.)

1. K&R! Thom is great as usual... Thanks Alpy!

Mark Kirk on Obama:

"When we first came to the table, we didn't know if the President was serious about real energy reform. But President Obama far exceeded my expectations. What my Republican colleagues in the Senate are afraid to admit is that President Obama showed the kind of leadership we haven't seen in decades. It's a whole new ball game now."

2. We seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel

for politicians. They have all the worst ideas that will drive this country into third world status.

Example: health care. A national health care system would sweep away veterans health care, schip, state health care, medicare, plus numerous other programs and put them under one banner, saving the government and citizens billions, if not hundreds of billions.

But no, the politicians want to provide health care in the worst way possible. Dipweeds.
