Another effective way is to stop talking.
Just incredibly rude. But considering him, expected.

Great job by constituents!

Time for Paul Ryan to GO.

22. If I were that citizen...
I would have stopped talking and said "Paul, are you even listening?"

I mean, how effin' rude and arrogant to let the citizen address his Congressman and the representative is ACTIVELY DEMONSTRATING WITH HIS BODY LANGUAGE that he doesn't give a rat's ass about the citizen's comments.

Jerk. May he lose soundly and fade into the memory hole.

16. Also, taxing the individuals in the top 1%
is different than taxing the businesses. The individuals don't create the jobs, the businesses themselves do. The fact that people fall for the interchanging of these things in discussions on the subject is ridiculous.

If a person's business requires extra manpower/employees to do the job that the business is doing requires, the owner is not going to say "Oh well forget it. I'm not going to fill those orders because I'm getting my personal income taxed at a higher rate."

And no, most of that 1% who are not being taxed at high enough rate aren't small business owners they are corporate executives and CEO's and CFO's, etc.

41. Koch Industries is considered a "small business" because there are only 2 owners
Olbermann did a big segment on this Countdown. Somehow the technical definition of small business is about the number of owners.

So this is how Ryan gets away with this bullshit. Koch Industries is not what most people think of when they hear "small business". People think Ma and Pop business etc, or me and my friends in a garage making something.

He knows that too, he is basically manipulating and confusing people.

76. All Republicans say that.
It is one of their major talking points. Their house of cards can't stand up without it. Just like their arguments for allowing Wall Street to regulate themselves.

They also say lower taxes result in increased revenue. That is a complete fabrication. Lower taxes do not result in higher revenues. The greater the lie the more often you will hear them tell it.

Edited on Wed Apr-20-11 01:26 PM by MsPithy
CUSTOMERS CREATE JOBS! Sorry about the shouting, but Republicans get away with "the rich are the job creators," meme and the Democrats let them.

Customers create jobs and the largest group of customers is the middle class. If you were and investor who was interested in making money on your investments, would you put your money in a business that could not show a demand (customers) that was greater than whatever the business was supplying? If you owned a restaurant, would you want one rich guy who orders one dinner, even if it is the most expensive thing on the menu, or 100 middle class guys ordering 100 hamburgers?

We will not even begin to solve the obscene unemployment problem in this country until the middle class has enough money to create jobs.

78. Yes. The old myth of 'supply side economics'.
Edited on Thu Apr-21-11 05:43 AM by Enthusiast
Even G. H. W. Bush recognized it for the ruse that it was. He called it "Voodoo Economics". Reagan was always given a pass on reality. Still is.

This is why the recovery has been delayed. Obama caved to mouthy Republicans giving them 1/3 of the stimulus in tax cuts. The stimulus was too small anyway and this act of spelunking only exacerbated the problem.

Consumer demand is EVERYTHING!

If I hear one more asshat conservobot say that raising taxes on the wealthy will hurt small business I think I will puke. :puke:

As someone already pointed out, the top 1% are not the ones running small business. The top 1% are the ones laundering their income as capital gains to avoid income taxes at the rate the rest of us and small businesses pay.

But so many people have been brain washed into believing this tripe. Like my own family who are all 2 paychecks away from homelessness. WTF? :wtf:

It's about time, life long conservatives understand that this is all about that Big Club that none of us are ever going to be invited to belong. They're getting it. 66. I agree! This is extremely encouraging! Dems need to stay on message
because this stuff is starting to sink in and going after the old folks money is a huge mistake because they are the ones who usually vote Republican. If they lose the older folks they are in big, big trouble!

65. This is what these FUCKERS always say: "The 'rich' are 'small businesses.' " It is a LIE ! A total
Edited on Wed Apr-20-11 10:21 PM by RBInMaine
fucking LIE. Do not allow these fuckers to get away with that if you ever go to a meeting like this or argue with them or their sympathizers. First, we are talking about the INDIVIDUAL income tax rates. AND Obama/Dems have already passed MANY tax CUTS for small businesses and their small business investments AND most mom and pop type operations do not generate more than $250,000 in net profit, so only about 2 or 3 percent of small business owners' "take home pay" would be affected by allowing the Bush tax breaks to expire. This is their standard propaganda LIE designed to DIVERT people's attention from the greedy filthy rich millionaires and billionaires they are really trying to protect and to whom they want to continue to REDISTRIBUTE OUR MONEY UP TO. REPUBLICANS ARE CORPORATE FUCKING FACIST TOADIES AND NOTHING MORE. NOTHING !

69. what a rude, arrogant bastard.
Taxing the wealthy didn't hurt the economy under Clinton, but NOT taxing the wealthy enough has hurt the economy tremendously.

If we have anti-trust laws in America because big companies with money can keep getting bigger vertically and horizontally and control the whole economy, why does the same concept not carry through to citizens? How greedy these repukes are, when can it ever be enough money for them?

Ryan literally did just that - just all Republicons. A how-to demonstration on rudeness.
