Senator Grothman: "We're trying to keep people out of the Capital because the building is becoming a pig sty. People are staying over night, the building smells. We used to have nice tours for children, all that's being shut down by a bunch of slobs taking up the building. We can no longer continue to have all these slobs in the building. It would be embarrassing to me to take my child through that building today. These people are not nurses, police, and firefighters, they are college students and hangers-on who are having a fun party. The people who are staying over night are largely making a mess of our Capital. Why are we keeping people out? Because we do not want to have so many people there overnight defacing our beautiful Capital. A very small percentage are police, and firefighters, and nurses. I think if you would interview all the people who are making a ruckus, the vast majority are either college T.A.s, college students, and hanger's-on... Or unemployed people just looking for someplace to hang out."

3. What makes you not a slob?
Apparently a Gadsden flag, and a sign that says "we came unarmed. . . this time."

4. This dweeb is a piece of work:
In 2010, Glenn Grothman opposed a bill mandating comprehensive sex education. In an interview with The Capital Times, he said "Would you want your daughter's teacher in 7th grade talking with her about homosexuality? They should be talking about Algebra." He also stated that "Did people even know what homosexuality was in high school in 1975? Homosexuality was not on anybody’s radar. And that’s a good thing."

<3> Grothman also opposes the "Head Start" program, a four-year-old kindergarten program that offers early education for Wisconsin children.

<4>The Senator has also argued that workers should not have Martin Luther King Jr. day as a work holiday, calling the day off "an insult to all the other taxpayers around the state" and that "he doubts state workers would be 'checking out DVDs or reading books' about King and would probably just be out shopping or watching television instead."

<7>Grothman released a statement opposing Kwanzaa. A report on his website argues that the "holiday is being given undeserved respect and attention" and that we "should treat Kwanzaa with the contempt it deserves before it becomes a permanent part of our culture."

<10>Although Wisconsin suffered from a Cryptosporidium outbreak in 1993, when at least 104 citizens of Milwaukee died from unclean water,<11> the Senator has introduced and supported Senate Bill 19, which removes the mandatory disinfection of municipal water systems.<12>

democracy in action. Or he'd be embarrassed by his party's behavior in destroying his children's future.

Oh wait, that's right, they have no shame.

7. What is more important, keeping the capital building in pristine
condition or workers rights on the chopping block? This appears to be the only argument that asshat can come up with.

8. The idiot just gave the protesters more reason to protest
and more motivation to keep showing up with their pickets and people.
