1. Too bad the media now refers to this as a "prank call" like it was some kid
doing it for a lark. My understanding was it was a serious attempt to get the governor to expand on his (hidden) agenda, which he clearly did with little hesitation.

Punk(ed) call maybe. Prank call, not at all.

Calling it a prank call makes it sound like it was all done in good humor, just for laughs. As if it was all just a little joke.
