About the the topic, where do you start. If this is really what it has come to then we all might as well just throw up our hands and give up. Who knew back in 08 that this is the road we would be on today? On the other hand, statistically, more people die from extreme heat than cold.

2. Congressman Tonko fights Irresponsible Republican cuts.

Republican spending bill proposed erases $625 billion from the Social Security Administration. This affects the 53 million Americans who are collecting social security by furloughing every employee and closing the doors for a month or more. An estimated 400,000 people, mostly seniors, would not have their claims processed this year, creating a huge backlog and threatening the timely payment of benefits.

system of safety nets for people who obviously need it.

Despicable! I really can't figure out what goes on in the minds of those in the W H to come up with these draconian proposals.

Cutting LIHEAP will only force the burden back upon the states, who are already broke.
