Here's one of the most offensive bits of the interview:

O'REILLY: "Does it disturb you that so many people hate you?"

POTUS: "The people who dislike you don't know you. The folks who hate you they don't know you. What they hate is whatever funhouse mirror image of you that's out there. So you don't take it personally."

2. O'Reilly was TERRIBLE, wasn't he?
Interviewing anyone is a skill. O'Reilly doesn't have it. The OR comment that Mubarak might go "off the reservation" as to rendering, once he is no longer Pres of Egypt. What the hell did that mean? I googled "off the reservation" but the choices weren't very helpful.

3. POTUS is getting high praise on other sites. HuffPo as a for instance.
Billo was being mocked for being so rude and interrupting and the President showed nothing but class, calm and cool.

8. Can you imagine any other President being "interviewed"
so offensively? President Obama has not pleased me, he, IMO, has helped the elite at the expense of the majority. Billo should've been giving him head, IMO. I think the President should have told the blowhard to go to hell and asked him how it felt to be hated by SOO many people who get physically ill at the sight of him....

12. Respectfully, I think the President blew that question.

O'REILLY: "Does it disturb you that so many people hate you?"

OBAMA: "Who hates me, Bill?" That puts O'Reilly on the spot. If he says, "My viewers." or some such explanation, Obama can immediately remind him that Fox viewers are proven to be the most uninformed people in the country.

15. Granting Fox an interview only serves to legitimize them
which should never be done, period. They aren't worth the time.

19. I agree. He lends them credence
by allowing that interview. Sometime I think Obama is way way out of touch, or something.

26. Tradition
For the last several years, whichever network has the Superbowl interviews the President. It's that simple.

28. He should have taken
the opportunity to break with that particular tradition. Fox deserves no part of any such tradition, respect or consideration -the president and his people should have recognized that.

Fox News and the level of their partisanship is unprecedented in the history of American media. They will see every interview with a Democrat to create doubt in the mind of the viewer.

14. OK, I'm no expert in body language...
but I know something of it, and O'Reilly was in "kill" mode through the entire interview.

He sat forward, ready to pounce, made attempts at baiting PO and became incredibly nervous when the president was answering a question, (hence the interruptions). O'Reilly was in the usual "bully" mode that uses to while baiting whomever he disagrees with. He showed little if any respect for the president or the office.

His hand gestures were the usual distractions that are used to toss another off balance, it's as if O'Reilly was searching to justify his even being there.

While I don't think anyone should kow-tow to anyone else, at the very least, be respectful enough to allow a question to be answered.

The rapid change when he realized that PO had the better of him is typical of someone who realizes they are in over their head. Not until the very end did O'Reilly pull out his trump, and then he came off looking like a 5 year old about to have a tantrum. The "people hate you" remark was supposed to be O'Reilly's slash and burn moment, it wasn't, he was bested and he knew it.

The president had confidence and came out of this looking like he was on top of things, while O'Reilly came off looking looking like he actually has stock in ignorance.

Will this change anything how people view the president, no; but it showed O'Reilly for what he is, a pompous windbag that can't have even a moment of what most of us consider common courtesy. Basically, O'Reilly came looking for blood, but lapped up his own sweat instead.

27. I got the feeling that O'Reilly didn't want to do this interview... was in a hurry to get in his
punches and get the damned thing over with. It appeared to me that he was given no choice in the matter.

16. O'Reilly gets my vote...
as THE BIGGEST ASSHOLE THAT EVER LIVED! What a piece of shit. That excuse with legs needs to learn some respect.

Obama, on the other hand, was cool and showed class in so many ways. I wonder how FAUX will try to edit that out?

Question: How many people hate you, Bildo?
O'Reilly, here's some advise for your dumb ass: destroy all evidence of this interview. It truly shows how stupid you are.

Treated the president like he was talking to some everyday stooge. Is it that the president is in the democrat party or that he's black? Just asking.

20. They tell their viewers every
single day that Obama is some sort of every day stooge and far worse. They remark about Obama's use of teleprompters every single day on Fox as if this is evidence of his lack of competency. And you know how they have characterized Michelle Obama's effort to improve the health of the nation. It's like an alternate reality and their viewers believe every absurdity.

a (scared) racist trying to put a successful black man, "in his place". and losing.

I grew up in the Deep South and saw this same thing, with the exact same tactics. Bill might aw well have worn a KKK pin on his lapel.

22. Fun house mirror image
"What they hate is whatever funhouse mirror image of you that's out there. So you don't take it personally." = President Obama

The President knows that "mirror image" comes from the *circus act* on FOX 'news'!

That was perfect Mr President!!! :applause:

29. I tried to watch this interview, but just couldn't stomach it
after only a few minutes in. O'Lielly is such an incredibly rude jerk-off. What a total douche bag. I remember when he interviewed Bush. He practically got down on his knees, kissed his hand, and licked his shoes, while speaking to him in a very soft polite voice, as though he might break. Guess he didn't want to scare "W" or piss off the viewers. He has a completely different posture with Obama. I've noticed that whenever a Fox clown interviews Obama, the interviewer is disrespectful and constantly interrupting. Wish someone would put up a split screen showing the contrast. I admire Obama for doing this, but don't think it's necessary. Don't think it's going to earn him brownie points with Fox viewers who've already made up their minds that he's (fill in the blank-socialist, Muslim, communist, destroying the country, not a citizen, etc., etc.)
