1. He speaks with conviction.
He was on the front lines of the campaign. He saw the ugliness first hand.

5. Shame on Jan Brewer & her baggers for giving Arizona such a negative impression...
Because of this tragedy, we're learning that there are many Arizonans who are quite impressive.

he will always be haunted by this. They will never admit this, they will never stand and take responsibility. Why should they? We allow even war criminals to walk free in this country, but you have a bag of Weed on you...

Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 08:18 PM by Veronica.Franco
listening to him speak with such conviction makes it clear ... there's a real battleground there ... McCain needs to retire ... This is all his ... John McCain brought Palin into the national spotlight and he needs to own this and step down now ... he's finished ....

9. The conservanazis, like more-of-the-same mccain
are the blamed for this outrage. Grampa mccain brought caribou barbie into the spotlight andnshe became the darling of the hardcore reich wing teabaggin' kkkluckers. Charge the all, let the courts sort them out.

11. This guy is a little strange
I have seen several interviews with him and he strikes me as having some mental issues. He might just be one of the quirky citizens that inevitably shows up to city council meetings or Congress on your corner. His comment about having two very long questions for Rep. Giffords and writing down the Declaration of Indepence, which he has memorized, both strike me as strange.

15. Depends on in what generation you were born ... and where you were raised ....
WE had a speaking choir that chanted The Preamble to the United States Constitution in the 8th grade ... I can do it to this day (along with all the books of the Bible) ... our teacher was an Eagle Scout ... so was my husband's father ... citizenship, once upon a time, was something we were expected to take seriously ... believe it or not ...

21. "He memorized the Declaration of Independence so he must be mentally ill" ...
as in "The boy likes to stay at home and read books instead of fathering children and getting arrested for drunk driving. There must be something wrong with him".

Part of what is wrong with the country.

25. Indict Sarah Palin
Petition to Indict Sarah Palin
http://open.salon.com/blog/stuartbramhall/2011/01/08/petition_to_indict_sarah_palin

Please sign the on-line petition to indict Sarah Palin for incitement to violence, related to designating Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords with a gun target on her website:

http://www.petitiononline.com/IndictSP/

There is ample evidence from Palin’s public speeches and commentary that the image was used with the specific intent of inciting violence against Democratic congressmen labeled with these gun targets.
The other congressmen targeted by Palin are at serious risk if the DOJ fails to pursue this vigorously. Allowing Palin and others to continue to promote this type of gratuitous violence sets a dangerous precedent. It’s actually quite reminiscent of the activities of Hitler’s brown shirts – which unfortunately were never investigated or prosecuted by the German government.
Palin has wisely taken the gun targets off her site, but this is what it looked like:

26. I posted this in earlier today..possible clues he was responsible!
Posted in General Discussion - Presidency this morning:

Clues on Loughner's online posts he picked up ideas from right-wing sources?

http://www.talk2action.org

Sarah Palin, the "Blood Libel," and Jewish Democrats in the Crosshairs
Chip Berlet

The motives of the accused shooter in the Tucson rampage, Jared Lee Loughner, are unclear and further blurred by apparent delusions. Yet there are clues in his online posts that he picked up some of his ideas about a government conspiracy from right-wing sources. He is especially concerned with money manipulation and felt that current U.S. currency was invalid because it was not backed by silver or gold. Some of these ideas can be found in the writings of Ron Paul, the Republican Congressman from Texas, and in the pages of publications from the John Birch Society, a "Patriot" right-wing group.

28. His parting comment is so true.
People work hard to get good folks elected. When they are stopped from doing their job, be it a bullet or a plane crash, we are all robbed. Lives are put on hold or ended while the baggers fill the chambers and legislate against the best interests of the American people.

30. Ready for some jackpot justice
Go for them deep pockets.

The lunatic who actually shot you doesn't have any money.

It reminds me of the old Bloom County comic strip. Steve Dallas gets beat up by Sean Penn after Opus takes a photo of him, and sues the "Nikolta" camera company for not putting warning labels on its cameras saying not to take photos of psycho actors.
