1. killing is killing...
And it is wrong no matter who does it or their "reason."

2. frankly I believe in torture rather than the death penalty
But only for certain people. People who rape corpses, children, abuse animals, people caught on video doing vile things.

But not this guy. Life in prison for sure. Don't give him what he wants. Frankly if he's not on suicide watch right now. Someone should be held in his place.

(no torture would not include OJ Simpson because 1. it's not on video, yes he beat nicole up) and 2. there is doubt. I do still think he's guilty though. Even with this newer news of a drug deal and identity mix up. story.

7. How very odd
You may be aware that sexual slavery, which could be construed as something akin to torture, is alive and well in our prison system. Sometimes it happens because of the type of crime the victim committed. But it can also depend on their age/fighting ability/race as well. How about we just agree that torture is wrong in any circumstance and leave it at that?

And what is this 'doubt' you speak of in the OJ case. Weren't you around in the 1990s?

3. Why bother with the Death Penalty? He won't survive prison anyway.
So give him life without parole.

4. Why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?

8. Esp. the mentally ill
The killer is a victim too. 5 beds for every 100,000 mentally ill people in Arizona. Next to the bottom of states in mental health care . ...only exceeded by Nevada.

5. The death penalty is wrong for any civilized nation. It would not
be a bad idea to try and understand this man's mind, life without parole would provide plenty of time.

6. No.
He should be locked up whether in prison or a mental hospital. I believe studying the psychology of people like him would help identifying potential killers before they act up. If we kill them then we kill our ability to understand what was at the bottom of this. We learned a lot about Charlie Manson and his family and what motivated them because we didn't kill them. I do believe it's time to put what we have learned to use through making legislation to make this nation a little safer from people who are dangerous and delusional.

9. If it's the law why not?
I keep thinking about the real victims (the ones who were murdered in cold blood) and the critically wounded. I also think about the surviving victims (the families of those murdered and maimed). I think they deserve some justice. I am not sure what the aggravating factors are in AZ for the death penalty. Before I begin feeling sympathetic toward the murderer he will have to a mental health evaluation. It appears to me that he knew exactly what he was doing with the planning of the killings. The intent to murder was there.
