Conservative hate talkers are not a new phenomena, and as Mike Papantonio points out on The Ed Schultz Show, hateful and violent rhetoric from the right existed back in the days of JFK, and many believe that this is what led to his assassination.

1. And I stand as a witness to the truth of this about the 60s
I witnessed that hate vitriol against the Kennedy's first hand....saw all the derogatory posters and cartoons....in fact there were records played on honky tonk juke boxes.
I remember and I recognize the same shit...diferent generation.

2. Go way back in time
You will have to go back further in time to the Depression. There was a priest, Father Coughlin, who was broadcasting stuff that was even worse. He is considered to be the spiritual father of today's hate radio. Revoltingly anti-Semitic, he blamed "international Jew bankers" for the economic collapse and massive unemployment. Even the Vatican was put off by this.
Although he did not have a call-in format, he had many listeners saying "ditto" to his crap.

3. Sad K&R. And too many news anchors are allowing the pretense of the lone extremist when
the Arizona massacre was the 15th of such "isolated incidents" since President Obama was elected.
