3. The Capital is Mesa and the hinterlands

Tucson is the liberal mecca and was where the Santuary movement started, as well as Human Borders and Derechos Humanos and branches of many progressive non-profits i.e. Friend of the Earth and HRC.

So, the state government is full of Repubilcan bigots, racists, fearmongering violence promoters. I would mention the good Dems in the state, but they are on the endangered species here.
