Talking heads on the media are now telling us that hateful rhetoric and the consequences have always been part of the American political condition. In other words, they are trying to 'normalize' this, just as they did with torture.

Another plus for the right wing is reminding us that Lincoln was a member of the Republican Party and that they are victims too.
