1. K&R He nailed it at the end. BTW Teabaggers like to call themselves "independents" too
Which we all know is a lie. They are mostly extremely gullible libertarian-capitalist-anarchists, like this guy seems to be.

2. Absolutely, he nails it...
No appeasement. Say what you want about Mahr, but he calls it like he sees it, speaks very clearly to the issues and, (though I adore Jon Stewart) does not feel inclined to equivocate, to form false equivalencies or to make self-flagellating and unwarranted apologies to the RW.

5. I didn't understand why Anderson Cooper brought that up
about Lincoln. Was there some point to that?

6. I think Mr. Cooper was going to bring up that hateful speech
towards politicians has been around for hundreds of years but Bill Mahers response cut his argument off at the knees.

8. There is a point.

Talking heads on the media are now telling us that hateful rhetoric and the consequences have always been part of the American political condition. In other words, they are trying to 'normalize' this, just as they did with torture.

Another plus for the right wing is reminding us that Lincoln was a member of the Republican Party and that they are victims too. But when Lincoln was assassinated the Republican Party was anything but the right wing idiocracy we see today. Just more obfuscation. They are bringing it big time in an effort to direct our thoughts and they are doing their usual masterful job of it.

10. good post but I would not concede that they are masterful
because many of us are not fooled. The sheeplets who follow FAUX, or MOX (love that moniker), NEWS and the Rushbots may swallow their BS... hook, line and sinker but we know, Sheriff Dupnik knows and many others know that the media is owned, skewed and WRONG.

7. But, Bill. Hold on there.
Your position is outside the officially sanctioned one now being spread by the media in an effort at damage control. Stop it, Bill. Just stop it!

9. Why are the Instant Background Checks useless?
Edited on Tue Jan-11-11 07:51 AM by baldguy
Because the NRA and the assassins' lobby made sure that it was.

11. Anderson is defensive of the guy
'Fair and balanced,' means spewing RW memes as if they were fact.

14. I didn't think so
I have no problem with interviewers like Anderson asking some of the same general questions as right wingers, the difference is that Anderson lets his guests refute their points and give complete and intelligent answers. I didn't notice Anderson doing what you said, and it seemed like a fair interview to me.

13. Names please, Mr. Cooper.
To rebut Maher, Cooper said something about "a Democrat" is proposing some type of restrictive legislation in response to the Tucson shootings.

We hear that all of the time from the MSM gerbils. You always hear Matt Lauer, the Faux Snooze gang and others attempt to rebut a Democrat by saying something along the line of, "Some say...." or "There have been others who say..."

Without giving specific names, I think these news gerbils are just making stuff up.
