1. They are finally catching on to what everyone else has already known
for a long time. Republicans are greedy, and they care for no one but themselves, they would probably sell their own children if it meant they would make more money.

42. THEY ALREADY know the solution...... these 3 steps--->
if you want to stimulate the fucking economy.... it is not so difficult----->

1) give money to the poor... there is no FASTER way to get the money into circulation than give it to people who will spend it AT ONCE
2) create jobs to rebuild the infrastructure of the country---- we have jobs... we have people... PUT THEM TOGETHER
3) raise taxes on the super-wealthy---> BUFFET gets it... when one player in MONOPOLY has all the money, everyone else just circles the board

AND MAYBE A FEW MORE STEPS----
4) get out of the fucking afg. war
5) get out of iraq
6) get out of japan
7) get out of everywhere else
8) put your money into R&D by spending your taxes on EDUCATION so we are not a second rate math and science country
9) get a REAL democrat liberal progressive government to promote green in this country

43. You and I AND Grayson too knows none of this will happen. Where........
..........some people ought to get involved in now to make money is "expatriatism", look at Germany in 33--38, a lot of people were "moving out" and looking for a peaceful place to live. This could be a growing business in the US, plus the country could rid itself of "undesirables" in the process. HEY, what about small business tax breaks?

:sarcasm:

There are only 535 people in Congress. There are way over 235 millionaires in the country.

he may not win, but he could get the president to represent those who put him in office and worked on the campaign. Unfortunately, the President has been leaning toward wealthy extortionists who he believes will make large, unaccountable campaign contributions.

"what an idiot. when you decrease taxes you increase revenues. that is what gets people jobs. and allen just remember these are not tax cuts we have had these tax levels in place for a decade so what your really mean is that republicans want to avoid a tax increase and we are greedy because we would like to keep our money from being wasted on government expansionism and socialist reform ok then yep were guilty all the way"

"@grokagain All the conservative pundits that Mr. Grayson was criticizing create jobs for the country. Since when has the government ever created one job outside of itself? Good liberal, never lets logical thinking infringe upon his insanity."

The majority of the comments are purely that of someone who does not understand the we all, as a country, should benefit. That we all should contribute equally and redistribute as equally. The rich do not want to contribute to the society in which they live, and there is no other country that they can live in that they could live relatively safely, and not contribute. If they move to Europe, they will have their shit taxed like it should be here. It is sad when people can not see the forest before the trees, they utter their selfishness with glee and think that their idea is sound and of all things, logical. Taxes are a necessary evil, we need taxes to pay for infrastructure, schools, social services...etc. Clearly, the first comment is someone who does not understand just how much they benefit from socialism and just how much of the country operates on that. The second is equally foul, the rich do not create jobs and they take their money and hide it in off shore accounts to avoid paying (taxes) back to the society which helped them to become as they are. 2% of the population is NOT, nor has it ever, been reliable for the other 98% of us.

47. What they don't pay, the rest of us make up for - that part always gets forgotten.
If small taxpayers don't have to make up for their cuts, and have more in their pockets to spend - jobs are created because of increased demand.

Secondly, programs for low-income people don't have to be cut, meaning they too have something to spend - jobs again are created due to increased demand.

Third, if the rich get the cuts instead then that demand (above) disappears, and MORE foreclosures happen and more job loss - deflating the economy even more.

It isn't so much that the government itself creates jobs, it's that when we don't put the 2%'s tax burden onto the 98%, then consumers spend more into the economy, which DOES create jobs.

The ultra-rich benefit nobody but themselves. And they are already way over-inflated with way out of proportion income as it is. And THEY have the colossal nerve to talk about deficits. They show by that, that they don't even have a pretense of ethics left anymore.

That was a great speech by Grayson, way to go AG!

He's such a great guy! We will miss him dearly in January. One of few Congressmen who would speak truth to power.

Grayson is so right, millionaires want the tax cuts to continue, so that they can make more $, not out of any kind of patriotic desire to see the middle class get back to work... they don't care!

they have health care that comes from the government and is paid for by the public. How many times have you heard of a president, senator, etc being treated at Bethesda Naval hospital or Walter Reed?
They have a pension after they have a certain amount of time in the Congress, also paid for by the public. They also have many perks and privileges paid for by the public. And they get to decide their own tax rates and vacations. Gee, who would not want that kind of job?
