1. Excellent rant Cenk.
I agree with you on all points.

See the video I posted to Michelle Obama.

4. I think Cenk's message was on the mark.
Truly when I heard Cenk's rant, I thought he really delivered his message to Michelle is such a classy way.

I can't even imagine what about it offends you?

Or is this your usual knee jerk reaction if Cenk has anything to say at all?

9. Do personal remarks get brownie points?
As for Cenk, he is boorish in delivering his message to the First Lady in hopes that she will tell the President what a good whine he put on. I always wonder at people who will rant at anybody they think will listen, but lack the cajones to rant at the person the rant is about.

36. He has directed his rant
at President Obama many times. His rant directed at the first lady in an act of desperation because obviously President Obama doesn't give one shit what his 'soon to be' previous supporters think.

But you can't get past the most trivial part of the whole segment which wasn't even part of the plea. Cenk criticizes the President...he speaks evil...I will hear none of it! You guys are way too emotionally involved with politicians.

27. Too emotionally involved
is a good phrase for Cenk. He needs to take a deep breath and look at things logically once in a while. We all get disappointed but whining about the daddy authority figure isn't always the best solution.

Seems to me that if logic leads you to see that this thing is broken it is OK to get emotional when no one wants to fix it.
Perhaps if we had gotten emotional 10 years ago we would not have to face this crap not.

It might have been productive for Cenk to highlight and promote that fact. Instead, Cenk ignores the real Obama and continues his knee-jerk whining about his imaginary Obama.

lobbying reform has to also pass the court challenges which would be sure to come. Cenk needs a civics lesson.

23. Aagreed, but...
If BHO would stand up and really fight for these very important things, we could live with his failing at it...because in that case, it would be both OUR failure and his. No shame in failure if you've stuck up for principle and fought for ALL Americans. No politician wants to do that, it seems. I voted for BHO and would do it again, but he does have to "man up."

MANY GOOD accomplishments well enough, and yes, Obama needs to get LOUD and show a FIGHTER persona for working Americans in front of the cameras all the time. When an economy is down, so are moods, and as President he needs to instill confidence and strength and principles. Americans voted for Captain Kirk and not Mr. Spock. He campaigns like Kirk but leads like Spock.

14. Cenk's usual whiny broken record.
"We want you to turn their apple carts over," he hyperventilates. "Storming their castle."

What does that mean? Dissolution of Congress? Ignore the constitution?

Hey Cenk, if you want to be productive, how about saying something to the lame duck session of Congress that's meeting this week? It was the US Senate the blocked more progress, not Obama. Why not pressure the people who are the actual problem? Cenk is for people who prefer emotional outbursts to constructive action or logical thinking.

Cenk claiming that he'll have Obama's back over anything is the most disingenuous empty promise in the history of television.

A Message to Cenk Uygur
by RASalvatore
Sun Nov 21, 2010 at 07:56:57 AM PST

I don't believe you. I've watched you for years and I've never believed you. You want the same 5 million+/year deals you see the other purveyors of outrage making. You're a one-note pony. You deal in anger and will brook no countering arguments because to do so might imperil your personal aspirations.

I've seen you sitting across the table from economists who flat out claim that TARP was critical and necessary and stopped us from going off the cliff, to which you shrug and say, "Well, I don't agree with that." Bully for you. That makes you any different from the devoid-of-facts chucklenuts at Fox News how, exactly?

If you like Cenk, don't bother coming over the jump.

~~~~snip
But let me add a couple of more points to your claim - Why do you think so many Independents and even Republicans voted for him in 2008, but are now leaving him in droves? - because here's the thing: they're not. You're full of crap.
~~~~snip

In case no one here has noticed, this "letter" wasn't for Cenk. He likely won't read it; he's not here for discussion, as is shown in his disregard for comments. He's here to promote Cenk, and his ticket to seven figures is anger, only anger. He's also smart enough to understand that if the left doesn't promote the good that this White House has accomplished, then no one will, and if he really cared about the changes he says he cares about, he should be smart enough to do the "good" work of balancing his diatribes.

Which is why I don't believe him.

But if you do peruse this, Cenk, then you need only read this last line. Regarding the differences between punditry and actually, you know, governing, as Barney Frank said of Ralph Nader and I say of you: Ralph (Cenk) gets to luxuriate in the purity of his irrelevance.

48. Featured Diary @ Kos: 'Updated: Not buying it, baby - the real issue isn't Cenk'
Note: This is just an excerpt, click the link below to read the full diary.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/11/21/922315/-Not-buying-it,-babythe-real-issue-isnt-Cenk|Updated: Not buying it, baby - the real issue isn't Cenk>

Making Cenk's remarks and even Cenk personally the villain is a diversion, a clever distraction, a red herring. The implied message of some of the diarists and other critics of the left is that the left constitutes a threat for merely speaking out about public policy.

The real issue, in my mind, vis-a-vis the recent flurry of diaries either for or against Cenk is whether the centrist faction in this country will support or suppress the right to honest public debate of Obama's policies...

38. Do you not grasp that the situation is desperate.
The nation is facing bankruptcy and the wealthy Republicans not only want the tax cuts for the wealthy to continue but be increased. President Obama has to to go to the American people and lay out his case loudly and clearly telling the citizens that the wealthy are determined to enslave the 98% of the citizens. He has to tell the citizens that the Republicans and unfortunately far too many Democrats are owned by the powerful corporations. I just don't see him getting the message out.

29. At this point...
At this point, all I can think is that once he got into Office he found he was up against powers that he could not fight against and win. All I can think is that the people with the money are pulling the strings. They say 90% of the wealth in this country is controlled by 1% of the people. If that's true, those 1% are some powerful motherfuckers. Maybe beyond the power of votes.

39. I think that assumes his movement into the WH
was an autonomous act which essentially negates the second part of your hypothesis. Have to say that I didn't vote for him other than in the primary; I though all along he was manufactured. But I expected improvement rather than continuing going down this road to hell in a hand basket.

I think his perceived 'weakness'/desire to negotiate masks that his intent all along was to continue down Bush's road. There is substantial evidence that he has/had CIA connections. Pleadings by Cenk, etc. assume Obama wants/wanted to do the right (just) things...This is a myth. Look who works for him - where are the progressives; where is the substantive change?

His foreign policy, etc. is Brzezinskiesque - the Grand Chessboard - leading us to a one world economy governed by world elites. National and world capitalists have been calling the shots; but fortunately/unfortunately, this system they are setting up through Obama is not sustainable.

Kudos to Cenk and I agree with everything he said 1000 percent. I can't believe some of you still seem offended that a lot of we real liberals aren't thrilled with Mr. Obama. We're upset because during the campaign he sounded like us and once in office he's acted more like Joe Lieberman. One doesn't have to be overly cynical to think he just said what he said running to get in office.

But I'm now thinking that there is a small percentage of people who are going to defend and make excuses for Obama no matter what - which is very republican like IMHO,
