3. Thom makes an excellent point,
the only way to win the War On Terror is to STOP MAKING MORE TERRORISTS! We win automatically! It really makes one wonder if ending the wars is the goal, or is perpetual war the goal? Every innocent bystander that is killed by a drone strike has a family who is now our enemy. What the hell are we doing?

Too many corporations are making hundreds of millions of dollars by spinning more fear.

6. "Pat down" is a euphemism.
I understand they've changed the way they, um, pat. Now it's more of a grope.

7. Shades of James O'Keefe
Looks like this guy just wanted to make some press. Well, now your 15 minutes is up. Please dry up and blow away. For my part, if they let you or anyone else through without the scans or the pat down I'll head straight to the TSA office to scream bloody murder at someone. Also, there's no way in hell I'm getting on THAT plane. There are only two reasons to NOT want the scan.

1. You are carrying something illegal or an explosive device -- in either case I want you in jail.

2. You have such a small penis that you don't want that to show up on the scans -- but we all know it already because of the sports car or giant pickup truck (jacked up at least 6" and with huge meats on it) that you drove up in. Don't worry, bud. WE ALREADY KNOW YOUR PENIS SIZE!

9. I think you are wrong on your analysis...
Since the backscatter x-ray machines did not have to go through any regulatory approval process that prove the machines are safe for human use should raise some concerns with everyone (personal communication with FDA - if you would like to see that communication please feel free to PM me). There have been no studies, short term or long term, for safety for this equipment. There are no peer-reviewed scientific articles indicating that the equipment is safe. The group looking at "safety" for these machines is out of Johns Hopkins University. The group gets most of their funding from the US government and there have been concerns in past with this group's objectivity, plus the ethical issues the University's Institutional Review Board has had in the recent past.

Of major concern is the concentrated x-rays on a large organ (the skin). It looks like the exposure rate was extremely underestimated by the manufacturer and the TSA. That should be no surprise to anyone who has dealt with the government.

Everyone wants to be safe when they fly, including me, but not at risk for my health. There are better ways to do this. The Israeli model looks good and they are not going to utilize this technology.

10. More testing, good. Chaos/no checking on anybody, bad.

There's a happy medium in there somewhere where you and I can both be happy and/or comfortable getting onto a plane. If you don't want to go through the machine that I will happily dance through then you can go into a separate line, strip down naked, spread 'em, and undergo a search that is thorough enough that MY safety, and that of the hundred others on the plane, is NOT jeopardized. Your rights end at the tip of my nose. Your right to saunter onto the plane without being checked ended a long time ago.

Maybe more study is warranted, I can get behind that idea. But in that case you should expect to be pointed toward "line #2" then.

11. The next logical question I have for you is...
Do you fly a lot? Do you really understand that the TSA does not know what they are doing. They are a reactionary organization. The word proactive is not in their vocabulary.

To think that everyone needs a strip search to get on an airplane is just ridiculous. They don't even do this in Israel. In fact the Israeli government has decided not to use the x-ray machines because they believe they don't work well and they continue to have the best airport security in the world.

My suggestion to you is not to fly. I really would not want to fly with you because I think your argument. what little there is, and irrational people don't make wise decisions.
