Scott Pelley looks at the national debate that has flared up around Ground Zero in New York City over opposition to building an Islamic Center and prayer room nearby.

The prayer space already exists. Muslim Americans pray once a week in the Pentagon religious space.

"That's New York. That's New York."

"It's the right thing to do."

"We have to wage peace."

1. Too much Pamela Geller
That screaming attention hog was just too much for me to take.

Somebody get that woman a Valium!

She's an example of the absolute worst sort of bigot this country has produced.

3. Good stuff.
Except when the interviewer asked the Imam what he would say to a "perfectly reasonable" person who lost a loved one that opposes the community center.
What kind of a BS question is that? Especially considering that most of the 911 survivors do NOT have a problem with it....

5. This issue was settled on December 15, 1791.
Once the Bill of Rights went into effect it became unconstitutional for ANYONE to make or pass laws that would prohibit the free exercise of religion in this country. On private property, you can build whatever you want, whenever you want and as large as you can afford or convince others to do for you...END OF DISCUSSION.

I personally do not like Pamela Gellar's make-up or hair and find both to be an utter affront to decency and humanity in general. Sadly for me, I have the same rights to tell her how to dress and slather on the mascara that she has to tell anyone else what to do on their own land.

Piss off Pammy....the Mosque is going up and the "outrage" you tried to gin up will be the ONLY thing you are ever remembered for...well done, I could not have marked you as a bigot any better with tatoos!

8. I'm no proponent of religion although I've been there, did that, got the shirt...
And yes my parents even had me convinced that there was a Santa Clause, Easter bunny and the boogie man. But then something happened... I grew up and found out that one persons religion was another persons boogie man, because some extremely vile and evil person that should have never been taught how to talk let alone given a microphone, runs amok portraying themselves as some kind of expert, says that it is so... Conclusion, the real harm is ignorance, and this right wing wacko attention whore Pamela Geller looks like she is trying to monopolize on it. And lucky for her stupid people are a dime a dozen. Adjusted by 30 years of inflation that would now be $1.32 at ground zero, bla bla bla...

9. As a Christian, (Roman Catholic) and an American...
... I find this whole "debate" despicable, reprehensible and repugnant. Why do I have to hate you if you're "different"? I weep for my children.
