1. Good basketball player - Bad candidate for governor

This reminds me of Bush's first run for governor of Texas. Smile and say nothing while the Republicans run a smear campaign against the Democrat. In Bush's case he knocked off Ann Richards and some people are still puzzled about how a popular Democrat lost.

If Dudley wins we'll see attacks on public education and environmental regulation.

I live in Oregon, so I've seen the local whacko machine in action for a long time. Dudley is a blank slate, a puppet, just like dim son, who will say whatever his handlers put up on the teleprompter. Thing is, he has name familiarity here from being on the Trailblazers team, with a reputation as a decent guy.
