The teabaggers are out in full force to undermine the One Nation rally scheduled for October 2nd. Among their claims is that the rally is being sponsored by un-American, communist, socialist, terrorists (seriously, just go look at what Breitbart is saying.) Mike Papantonio talks with Ed Schultz about the fact that these teabaggers are so stupid that they don't even realize that they're stupid.

1. I've been posting articles about the effect for ten years
and yes, these low information types are really too stupid to be able to tell how stupid they are.

It's why I tell people to stop trying to talk sense into them. It just won't work. Brick walls have to fall on them before they realize they might have been sold a bunch of bad information.

The only thing you can do is say something along the line of "You bought that?" and laugh at them.

No, it probably won't change their stupid belief system, but nobody likes being laughed at and they'll stop ranting in public, at least when you're around. That will make for a more civil country, right there.

2. Anosognosic

basic thesis is that the less competent you are, the less likely you are to realize that you're incompetent.

3. thanks for posting
It's sad how many of these uninformed, uneducated, defensive people are walking around in this country. Most people I've attempted to talk about politics with aren't familiar with even the basics of the Constitution or the workings of American government. Yet they are sure angry about something and eager to vote against their own interests (without being able to realize they are doing so of course).

4. The Teabaggers would not be so strong now if Obama had
sent Bush to the International Court to be tried for war crimes -- as he should have done.

I do not understand why Papantonio and Schultz are browbeating liberals.

Obama went far too far in his compromises with the Blanche Lincolns, Liebermans, Ben Nelsons, Max Baucus types. They are the folks who have squelched the enthusiasm of the Democratic base.

They are the ones that Papantonio and Schultz should be screaming at. It's those conservadems who have the most to lose in the upcoming election. They should have thought about the likely results of their lack of support of Democratic initiatives.

5. Agree 100% Obama went soft on torture, soft on war crime and soft
on Wall Street. With each concession he made, the right wing grew stronger.

Funny how Obama uses maximal force against an impoverished nation, but when it comes to the corruption and criminality of the elite here in USA he is giving immunity.

Mr. Obama, I'm not impressed that you can send a drones and bombers and kill thousands of innocent people (and maybe a few Taliban).

If you can't stop the fraud and corruption and abuse here - how are you going to stop it over there?
