The Craziest Catch
by digby

Last night the teabaggers nominated an anti-masturbation woman for the senate in one state and a pro-bestiality man for governor in another. Talk about a Big Tent...

It's tempting to assume that the electorate in November will be shocked and appalled by such fringe candidates but I think that's short sighted. The number of people I know personally who don't have a clue about how radical the teabaggers are is astonishing. I have to think most people are averting their eyes from this ugliness we currently call politics and simply don't know how crazy they are. After all, they're mostly just a bunch of middle aged white people wearing silly t-shirts, right?

Wrong. These extremists are so far out that even Karl Rove isn't pure enough for them. So, as a public service, Blue America has reteamed with our friends at America for Americans, (who produced our John Boehner "Priceless" ad) to do a little public education. We're calling this project "Left Jab." Every day from now until the election we are going to release a new video exposing the corrupt kooks who now represent one of the two political parties in the most powerful country in the world.

Today we bring you "The Craziest Catch":

With the help of the awesome Alaskan blogosphere, we're hoping to get this one on cable up north. If you can help, donate here.

And be sure to spread this around to your friends. We want as many people as possible to see what lunatics and crooks the GOP and the teabaggers is inflicting on this country
at the worst possible time.

And come back tomorrow to see our new "Left Jab"

1. I saw this today on Phil Munger's ProgressiveAlaska blog,
so the AK bloggers are on the job already.

In a related story in this morning's Anchorage Daily News:

Sen. Lisa Murkowski plans to announce Friday afternoon whether she'll run as an independent write-in candidate after losing in last month's Republican primary election to Joe Miller. Murkowski asserted Tuesday that Alaska's Republican primary "was hijacked by the Tea Party Express, an outside extremist group."

"I will continue to seek advice from my fellow Alaskans about what is best for the state's future and announce a decision by Friday," Murkowski said in a statement released by her campaign.

Her campaign spokesman said he expects the announcement to be made Friday afternoon.

The Tea Party Express responded to the statement by calling Murkowski a sore loser who "dishonors the decision of Alaska's voters" and is threatening to split the Republican vote in the November general election against Democrat Scott McAdams. The group, funded through a California-based political action committee, spent as much as $600,000 to help Miller beat Murkowski.

<snip>

I'd like to know why other Republicans aren't calling out the Teabaggers for hijacking their party.

2. These " Tea bagger " Freaks are primarily funded......
from out of state sources with Palins backing. That Should tell you who they would represent if they actually got elected.....Which they won't.

3. I wonder how things would change is a candidate could only accept money from his district
I'm not sure I'm for that idea, but it might be worth a debate.
