Ah, but since he's on Fox News, he ignores most of the facts, and makes the rest up.

Glorious and insightful criticism of that idiot.

2. Cavuto inadvertently let it slip.
His little buzz terms that he used over and over again: "they don't understand." And: "U.S. empire." Wow. Admitting we're an empire, with the inherent timebomb all empires have of overreach; the exhaustion of maintaining a constant pattern of fighting other nations to enrich themselves; and suppressing those nations' resulting uprisings. The empire finally collapses from spending all it's capital and wealth on never-ending wars and the ceaseless drain on it's peoples' lives and livelihoods. The empires never see it coming. Conservatives like Cavuto like to claim the Roman Empire died because it's people were morally corrupt and spent all their time feeding Christians to lions. "They don't see" that they spent themselves into a third world country because their nation's resouces went to defending the wealth of the few; like ours has gone to fighting wars over oil and defending our turf when the countries that we conquor and control over that oil decide they've had enough. But, it's Faux News, and Cavuto will keep having his veiwers thinking the Roman Empire collapsed because Romans all kept having toga parties.

3. AND we all now whose fault that is the last two stolen terms
of the Bush administration.. Which will take more than 18 to 20 months to overcome. The republicans pee and moan about this administration. What in the devil, except cut more taxes which would lead to a larger deficit, and start more wars, which would lead to more deficit, would these republicans who are screaming for relief do. Nothing absolutely nothing. They would ignore the fact that Bush started two WARS started mind you, and outsourced millions and millions of jobs, de-regulated mostly all businesses that is leading to the downfall of all things America, and gave oil companies free range to gouge the public and make them more and more dependent on oil. Bush according to everything American, was the worst president of all time and yet the republicans think they can convince the public he was wonderful. Straw for brains and deeply vacant of all brains. And any person who votes for a republican is worst. They know better.

4. Niel is just a copy of the not so bright right;

All pugs have learned to blame others (Democrats) for their calumny, treasons, lies, theft and distortions. The scary thing is; It works for them. We are always the trusting Charlie Browns racing down the track to kick the football that isn't there; Which is not saying much for our side, always left holding the bag; While the guilty party, the pugs, skate; Over and over and over.

How can that be?

The leaders of the Democratic party are not idiots.

What is this conundrum?

There can be only one answer that explains such an enigma.

The Democratic leadership is not what it pretends to be.

It is not what it seems;

It is where the brains of the pugs are; Causing the unbelievable after the unbelievable to happen;

Posing extreme danger to this country.

5. He is just borrowing a page from Glenn Beck
Preaching history to a group of people who are too ignorant to even understand current politics, not very well educated and proven to accept anything that is said at face value if it comes from Fox. For a vast majority of them, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are the only people in their entire lives that have told them they are smart.

If you know that your audience doesn't know anything, you can literally say anything and they will not know any better.

7. You are 1000% correct! I have something for you...
Not only that Rupert Murdoch's Media Empire via FOX "News" and everything else he owns are having huge success turning public opinion on almost every issue since Obama was elected...

Anyway, when you have 30 minutes you must watch this! Especially the second half as they hit the nail right on the head!

Even though I was already fully aware of what they say it still bothers me & is kinda scary knowing & watching how complete BS can influence so many people!

9. Thanks for that
I watched it earlier and feel much the same way you do. I was aware of it, but seeing it outlined and discussed really hits the point home. It is really shocking at how effective simply harnessing hatred and ignorance is.

11. Fox News makes up the news so why not history?
"From the eighteenth century onward, we have been obsessed with the fall (of the Roman Empire): it has been valued as an archetype for every perceived decline, and, hence, as a symbol for our own fears." - Glen W. Bowersock (emphasis added)

The Foxies would have us believe the sub-prime meltdown was a product of bleeding heart liberals like Clinton and Carter forcing banks to lend to the poor. "The Big Short" pretty much explodes that myth. It's a story of anti-social greed soup to nuts which wrecked our economy risking a depression. It is internal corruption of the sort Gibbons might have written about if it had occurred during the decline of the Roman Empire.

However, Cavuto, Fox News' alleged top business analyst, doesn't care much about business news or evidently history. Nope. He's a right-wing pundit posing as a news anchor - it is Fox News after all. So his screed ignores reality and Rome's fall is a validation of the Tea Party. The Romans failed because they weren't socially conservative (even though they adopted Christianity as the state religion) and not fiscally conservative (yep, a tax cut would have kept the barbarians from sacking Rome).

8. too bad
Too bad he couldn't see all that coming in 2000 before the money was spent and his political party was outsourcing American talent. He was a cheerleader up until any idiot could see it wasn't working as promised. It make take a village to raise a child but it takes and idiot majority to collapse a country from within.
