This is a War Department propaganda film, released in 1943 and again in 1946 to present the case for desegregating the U.S. military. (Desegregating the military was a major precursor to the civil rights movement.)

I find it to be a very relevant response to the intolerance being pushed by Beck, Palin, and the Tea Party. History does indeed repeat itself. It does give me hope that we've been through such extraordinarily toxic periods in our history before now, and we've survived them.
