8. "Come on you cop arse kissers, defend them like you always do."
Someone should ring the service bell in the gungeon. Those heat packin' manly-men can come up here to impress us with their martial knowledge and tells what a danger the old-timer was to "officer safety".

Good thing he didn't have a finger-nail clipper next to the couch like my father used to have because he would be dead. Did you know 21 feet is the golden rule for cops regarding bladed weapons? I learned that on the "dead Seattle whittling guy thread" the other day.

14. Rocky is right about this, folks.
Call the police only when you really need them, and then beware the "Men in Blue". They are NOT your friends. In many ways, they are your dire enemies. This goes for policewomen, also. In many cases, they're just as bad if not worse than the males - they seem to have something to prove.

Yes, the teachers in school taught you that the nice policeman is your friend. That was 2nd grade. This is adulthood. Shit has changed. A 7-year-old is probably safe. You aren't.

Your rights don't exist in Policeland. Your health is of no consequence to these people. Psych screening to weed out the sadistic bastards does not exist. Does. Not. Exist. Training - except target practice - is a joke. Harming citizens increases their cred with the other cops. And they will lie in the worst ways possible to make you look like the criminal you aren't and to justify their illegal treatment of you.

Stay away from these people who are a genuine, real-life danger to you, your freedoms, your privacy, your rights, and your health.

and NEVER, EVER Marry a cop. Marriage to a cop it an open invitation to sign ALL of your rights, including your right to live, away.
We had a case in Stratford where a cop murdered 2 of his wives, claimed claimed, insanity and got off with a few months in jail.

And I promise you, I am not crying over seeing their bloated salaries cut back.

5. Why in the hell were they in his house?
They had no right to be in his house.

And they tased him after he told them he had a heart condition!

What was so damn important that they had to tase him. And telling him
that he was resisting, when he was clearly incapacitated.

This is animalistic behavior from really stupid cops and I hope to God
these pieces of scum are sued seven ways to Sunday! They are sick, sick
people. They committed crimes and did so many stupid things--it just
boggles the mind.

I love that there was a camera on the taser! That will help sue these
bastards, but it looks like the dumb cops aren't even persuaded by
the fact that their incompetence is being filmed.

Just so sick!!!

. . . because they thought he might be suicidal. That's what they said.

Besides endangering this citizen, they trampled all over his constitutional rights. They had no right to enter his house, since he did not invite them, they did not have a warrant, and there was no emergency going on in his house that they could help with. They are a danger to the democratic system.

to go to the hospital. He didn't want to, since he didn't have health insurance. You either do what the cop tells you (because they ALWAYS know better than you, even if they don't actually), or you get tased. Simple as that.
"You're going to the hospital."
"Thanks, but no."
"STOP RESISTING! DO NOT RESIST ME!" <sound of 10,000 amps running through your synapses>
<sound of handcuffs being put on you while you are face down, being covered by 3 other cops>
"STOP RESISTING! DO NOT RESIST ME!" <sound of 10,000 more amps running through you a second time>
"Don't resist me! I'm trying to help your heart condition with all of this electricity."

At least that's what the police report says:

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/north_bay&id=7646728
The report says, "When the subject charged towards deputies, the ECD (electronic control device) was discharged."

Even when there is video they will tell a bald-faced lie.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. They know they will get away with it:

The Sheriff's Department offered a written statement saying it takes the use of force seriously and that when all the facts are in, the deputies will be vindicated.

Edit to add: Watch the video at the link in this post. There is 36 minutes of raw video. You get to see him Tased again (10:30 ish mark) while in handcuffs. "Stop resisting!" the cop says while he zaps the handcuffed man laying on his back.

9. All of you have it all wrong or partially wrong. The cops bosses and the bosses
Edited on Thu Sep-02-10 11:52 PM by peacetalksforall
bossess are the ones to blame. This new problem in our country is the fault of the upper level of management and maybe it goes all the way up to the Patriot Act or something. It is also the fault of their interpretors of use of these weapons and the trainers, plus those who approve of the policies of the police departments. Something is sick - there is a disease there and the cops are following guidelines.

The cops are not doing more than their higher ups are allowing.

No one can tell us that they give a taser or a gun to a cop and don't tell them what the law is and plain decency and logic. To the contrary, it seems like the cops have been frightened out of their minds by their bosses - it's as if they have been ordered to use them?

It's like they have been told it's OK to taser them if the so-called suspect questions them.

There has been a mega change within the police force and we need to find out why.

Something is seriously wrong in upper, upper, upper management and possibly also in the courtroom.

This has got to stop.

First question - have the cops been told they can taser if someone curses?

Second question - how many hours of training do they get?

Third question - are there no policies that tell the cops to lay off the young and the old?

Fourth question - is there not some line that is drawn just on the basis of some people having problem hearts at any age?

Fifth question - do they take statistics on those who survive vs those who die and come up with a quota of shots they can fire as a department within a week, within a month?

What the heck is going on?

Take it up the ladder people - we can call the cops dumb, but the dumb ones are their bosses and then it continues up.

TRAVELERS TO THE US - BEWARE OF COPS WITH TASERS.

OH? SO THEY ALL CARRY TASERS?- THEN DON'T COME TO THIS COUNTRY.

WE ARE UNDER SIEGE.

13. Ia gree with everything that you say.
It is as if there is no perspective anywhere.

there used to be perspective. Now that is missing.
here is a man that has posed no threat to anyone else, and for what ever reason the cops have been told that he is suicidal. And so they start to tase him. Why?

Where is any logic in that? If he was suicidal, he may or may not have caused injury to himself. But the cops' actions could kill him.

I have no idea what world we are in any more.

The logical world that i grew up in is gone and replaced with one in which a citizen cannot secure help for themselves, but whenever authorities do get involved they do the most inhumane and stupid things.

Those deputies need to be in prison! There was absolutely NO REASON for them to be there to begin with. NO REASON for them to stay there. NO REASON for them to disobey repeated orders and refuse to leave. NO REASON for them to tazer him.

They created a conflict for no reason, and tazered him for no reason.

37. Notice the way the cop is just lightly saying stop resisting?
They say those words to cover their asses. They can now claim the subject resisted arrest.
I know personally because I had a cop do it to me. She put me against a fence and kept
repeating "stop resisting" over and over again even though I was complying. The squad
car was not facing towards us so we were off camera and it was obvious to me at the time
that she was saying it loudly for the audio in the car to pick up. She was looking for a
reason to mace me at the time. Fortunately there were numerous witness one of whom
was the local judges son. So the charges were thrown out in court.

In other videos of similar events, that's precisely what they say either the split second before they tase or when they are already down and writhing in pain. It's a CYA measure, though the lie is clearly revealed in the video.

56. But there are knee-jerk defenders of cops here
who think the cops are always right and can do no wrong. They think the cops get a bum rap here at DU.

You would never admit that the cops lie like this to be able to falsely charge people with resisting arrest who were doing no such thing.

Just like they refuse to admit that cops carry drugs and disposable weapons they can drop so they can charge innocent people with possession.

They insist on thinking that we have "a few bad apples" when in fact the entire culture of the police force corrupts the vast majority of the police.

They are much more corrupt than not. :(

keep screaming "stop resisting" as if, by saying those magic words, they can then proceed to do anything they want under the guise of "self-defense."

My dream is to be on a jury for someone accused of killing one of these cretins. No matter what the facts, I would be a permanent vote for acquittal.

My mother was a "Cop Groupie" when I was younger, we'd have most of the local Sheriffs morning shift in my kitchen at the begining of a day, coffee and whatever we could whip up, and I loved them all, they were kind, decent, funny people that tried to live the "Peace Officer" role to the fullest.
But today? I see a badge, I go into fight or flight, it's sad that after my youth spent admiring these people and their struggles, all I can think when I see badge or uniform is either "Danger for me and my family" or "Target".

32. On The Contrary
Your post taps into the gut response that most people have when violated to such a degree, and is commendable for its honesty.

As we observe the police moving further away from any restraint, or recourse after violence, it's only a matter of time before someone decides they'd rather turn the tables than hire an attorney.

This post is not advocacy, but a prediction. Have a great, police violence-free day everyone!

The entire law enforcement culture needs to be changed to put the emphasis back on protect and serve rather then on etain and harass. First off all cop need a camera with a live mike on them at all times. It may not stop them from acting like assholes, but it will protect a lot of their poor victims after the fact from legal complications and get the worst cops off the streets.

No matter how many affadavits relatives, neighbors and friends signed, Internal Affairs did nothing but say we had nothing but "he said, she said" allegations. He even had other cops reporting her movements to him. He had other guys she dated intimidated. When she finally got married and moved away, he'd still find ways of "running" into me and other family members to casually ask about her. A year ago, she and her husband and my grandchildren quietly moved back into a small town just 30 miles from San Antonio (asshole was a member of the SAPD) and six months later, she saw him passing by as she was leaving our home. He no doubt ran her license plate number and now knows where she lives because the anonymous hangups have started again. This has been a never-ending nightmare for her and the brotherhood in blue just keeps covering up for him.

It's no secret that different police departments tend to be territorial. I'm hoping that they'll be less tolerant of a "big city" cop harassing one of their citizens. But, sometimes cops can be cops and she still has to come to S.A. for classes and I'm infuriated that I have to visit my grandchildren in Pleasanton instead of them coming to visit me because of this. Both deputies unable to control the extremely strong drug crazed young man are in such a life threatening situation they are forced to use a TAZZER on the young man out of fear for their lives! Then watch how the drug crazed man continues to resist as the TAZZER has no effect due to then 8 Ball of METH the man shot up at the fundraiser for an Islamic Mosque he attended earlier in the night over powers the 50,000 volts of electricity! After the upstanding law enforcement officer asked the drug crazed Obama supporting terrorist sympathizing young man nicely to "STOP RESISTING, SIR" the crazed man then leaps up & lunges again & again at the deputies forcing one sheriff deputy to TAZE the psychotic young man 3 more times out of fear for him and his partner's life!! After a life & death struggle to subdue the Obama supporting drug crazed terrorist sympathizing young man the deputies finally get him hand cuffed & carted off to jail! We need more fearless deputies like these two to "Protect & Serve" across America! God bless America & God bless these two fine pillars of society! This report brought to you by FOX "News" where America comes for "Fair & Balanced" reporting! Next up Glenn Beck warns Americans of a plot he uncovered on his own that Obama plans to eat the first born of all Christians in an very secretive Islamic Ritual most know nothing about! 39. What a bunch of stupid cops. And here's the lesson they will learn...
Turn off the camera or don't use cameras.

More proof that the idiots are in charge here on planet earth.

40. Just like in Idniana.
The blue blanket will cover it all up.

Indianapolis, last week. Officer bisard drives his patrol car into 3 motorcyclists sitting at a red light with nowhere to
go to get out of his way. 1 killed instantly, 1 still in critical condition and 1 walked away.
So what happens? Bisard and his belongings are whisked away from the crime scene, he is administered a drug screening at a health clinic
( which makes the test results inadmissible in court ) rather than at the hospital.

The results ( now useless)...bisard was 3x over the legal limit at the time of the accident. He is still on the payroll and walks free among the people.
He has also been linked to several other recent incidents in town where he shows up late or not at all, even in muulti death shoot outs.

How many more people have to die at the hands of corrupt and incompetent police storm troopers?

61. In that case, I'm sure they deliberately did the drug screening
in the clinic so that the results could be used against the cop in court. They knew to take him there as a precaution. They know what they are doing. :(

65. Indianapolis Police Department (Out Of Control Pigs)
I Do not mean to hijack this thread, but I wanted to add to penndragon69's post

Officer Bisard is a real piece of shit. He had already wrecked 5 police cars and still was allowed to patrol the streets of Indy. Now 1 man is dead, another man is in a comma with head injuries and will most likely never fully recover, one women with severe injury's and a long road to recovery ahead. Luckily one of the men on the motorcycles was uninjured, but still had to see the horror of his friends getting injured and killed.

This a-hole Bisard was just going to serve a warrant, was not involved in a chase or anything that was so urgent he needed to drive like that. According to witnesses he was possibly going 70+ mph weaving in and out of traffic and driving over curbs. He then lost control of his patrol car for the 5th time, but this time he slammed into the back of 3 motorcycles (4 people) sitting at a stop light, just out for their lunch break, minding their own business.

If all that wasn't bad enough, this idiot was DRUNKER THAN A SKUNK, at 11:30 AM. He tested twice the legal limit (.19) 2 HOURS after the crash. No Breathalyzer test was done at the scene. High ranking officers were at the scene and it now appears that they knew and tried to covered it up.

It looks like they purposely took him to a lab that was not certified, so the DA would have to throw out the blood alcohol results. Witnesses saw a bag taken from Bisard's car and handed to another officer and it conveniently disappeared, speculation it was a bottle of vodka the officer was seen buying the previous day, while in uniform.

When it's all said and done, I would not be a bit surprised if this sorry excuse for an officer walks with no jail time. Sure, he'll lose his job, but I don't think justice will ever be served for the victims or the families of the victims.

Indy residents have now forever lost respect and any confidence in the IPD.

45. These idiot Cops need have their toys taken away. They are
not grown up enough to have such power. They also might want to read the constitution of the United States.

59. Be the solution to police brutality
Anytime anyone witnesses someone being contacted/arrested by the police, take out your phone and film it. Everyone should do this, the cops will have no choice but to knock their crap off. Get the word out.

Even if your phone doesn't have a camera, take it out and pretend you're filming the arrest. At least then the cops will stay honest and not hurt anyone.
