I have been a lifelong Dem and can't understand the gun control platform of the Dem Party, if we dropped gun control as an issue, we would own the congress for decades, but noooooooo, elitists like you will never understand that and we will keep getting our ass kicked on the 2nd Amend. issue. Remember what happened in 93 after the so called AWB was passed in the Congress and Pres. Clinton signed it into law? We lost both the House and the Senate and Pres. Clinton aknowledged in his book that was the single reason why there was such a massacre.

3. So being for gun control makes one an elitist?

"elitists like you,.." Can you explain that, or will those that dissagree with you just 'never understand' and be called names?

Here are some definitions I just dug up;

1. A person who believes that they are superior to others (and thus deserve favored status) because of their intellect, social status, wealth, or other factors.

2. Somebody who believes that society should be ruled by an elite class.

3. A word used by the far right wing to label people who are intelligent as not being of the people. By doing so, the far right wing is insulting those they wish to reach by saying that couldn't possibly relate to anyone an IQ over 100.

Even thought John McCain owns 7 homes, is worth over 100 million dollars, has an economic advisor who thinks that our recession is caused by whiners, and doesn't have a clue how much a gallon of milk costs, he still calls Obama an elitist.

you labeling people who carry guns as rednecks makes you an elitist. I just retired 2 wks ago from 35 years of service with the Las Vegas Fire&Rescue and have never been in trouble with LEO, have carried a concealed gun legally for several years and open carried at times, does this make me a redneck? And just what other gun laws would you like to see enacted? Hey, I've got a novel idea, why not enforce the already more than 20,000 gun laws already on the books? You can make all the gun control laws you want, but criminals will not obey them, the only people these laws affect are law abiding citizens like me. Chicago is a fine example of how gun control doesn't work except against the lawful citizens.

I never called anyone a redneck,. the post you replied to refers to "this redneck behavior" and that is about the actions described in the video, did you watch it? It goes WAY beyond carrying a concealed gun.

Anyway I have little use for the laws, as they are all optional, as you point out,. however to me anyone who feels the need to carry a concealed weapon is living in fear to begin with, and I have little but pity for them. I would just encourage you, and anyone else, living in so much fear that they need a gun with them always, to seek help with the fear issues.

Remember what the little green dude had to say on this "Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, Anger leads to hate, Hatred leads to Suffering."

I went back and looked and realized that I responded to the wrong post and for that I apologize.
I do not live in fear, that is a very tired old canard that is just wrong, I live with the knowledge that if attacked, albeit the chances are miniscule, at least I will have a fighting chance to defend myself although I pray to the good lord that I never ever have to take another human life again as long as I live but make no mistake about it, if some POS criminal leaves me absolutly no other option, then I will defend myself with force up to and including lethal force.
