Island found in Arctic Circle

A new island has been discovered in the Arctic after rising temperatures melted the giant ice sheet which covered it.

The rocky mass - dubbed Warming Island - lies 400 miles north of the Arctic Circle in eastern Greenland, reports The Sun.

It was found by US explorer Dennis Schmitt 60 and is seen as further proof of global warming.

Edgar Cayce predicted that Lands would rise from the sea and that coastlines of America would go under
Global Warming is proving him right???

1. He also said the last free election in the U.S. would be in 2000...
My dad reminded me of this a couple of weeks ago.

Though it's questionable whether 2000 was actually a "free" election.

Me...I'm agnostic.

18. He also said that there would be a polar shift in 2001
Call me skeptical, but I don't seem to remember any kind of polar shift...

2. I actually like Edgar Cayce
but I am guessing people will attack you for posting this. For God's sakes Cayce is not inthe apparently invisible Liberal Way pamphlet that I wiped my ass with this morning.

I think Cayce had some connection to a higher power, but thats just my opinion. Maybe your guesses are accurate. Any time you deal with "prophecy" it is so hard to definitively say yes/no/whatever.

6. The Prediction of Changes in Sea Level is Fascinating
especially because it seemed so off the wall when we was alive.

The bit about Atlantis in the Arctic, though, is ridiculous. Atlantis was probably an island in the Mediterranean which was destroyed in the way that Plato describes (volcanic explosion) about the time frame he mentions. It is likely that a transciption error has had people looking for a large landmass in the Atlantic Ocean that doesn't exist.

Certainly not a small island near Greenland. That area was even more frozen during the time Atlantis was supposed to have existed.

8. Great points but if you look at the map which was made
from Platos stories the continent looks much like Greenland

Its not often explorers find a new island its like Lewis and Clark times

15. If the Atlanteans Were Eskimos
I think Plato might have mentioned it. :)

That climate change and sea level thing is sure interesting, though.

civilization on the islands of Crete and Thera (Santorini in Italian) that was destroyed when the volcano on Thera exploded with more force than the modern one in Krakatoa. Current excavations in Akrotiri on Thera confirm the consensus.

9. Cayce said a lot of things...
California was supposed to fall into the ocean was one, but it was a 'probable' as Cayce said Humanity creates reality and we could do better. (I thought San Francisco and the 60's saved us.) My understanding is that he contacted "Higher knowledge" or some such thing. My Grandmother gave me "There is a River' which is his life story. I was very fascinated with the book and used to think I would go to the place he and his family have in Virginia Beach, Virginia. (ARE I think, something about research and enlightenment.) I thought the find off Cuba that some photos of the ocean floor looked like walls, pillars and roadways might be Atlantis. (But I also agree with the other poster that it most likely was in the Mediterranean. I have also heard that the land under Antarctica is shaped like some old map of Atlantis) I thought Cayce said artifacts would show, like a museum or records of some type would be found.

I looked through my library for the book, didn't find it. Maybe I loaned it out at some point.

12. The sleeping phophet
I liked Cayse and followed him for sometime until I tried some of his 'out of body' experiences.
It was just too fucking creepy for my taste.
I actually experienced some of that shit.
It frightened me to a point where I got away from him.
:dilemma:
But he remains a fascinating figure none the less.

13. Islands rising??
it is evident that a melted glacier reveals a spit of land once underneath the glacier,

but is the island rising, after all the compressive weight of the glacier
is removed....or is it more likely that the land is 'apparently' rising??

a GPSS reading of elevation should tell us one way or the other

17. ok heres some I found
In 1941, Cayce predicted that lands would appear in the Atlantic and the Pacific in the coming years, and that "the coastline now of many a land will be the bed of the ocean. Even many of the battlefields of (1941) will be ocean, will be the sea, the bays, the lands over which the new order will carry on their trade as with one another."

The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea.

oh and this did happen
Cayce also predicted the coming of a certain 'blue stone' of Atlantean origin, that was to be found on "an island in the Caribbean" and was to have the power to heal. In 1974 a Volcanic blue pectolite now known as the Larimar was found in the Dominican Republic.

So there were a few things he got right
